Kings Island Nominated for Favorite Holiday Park

They should move Tinkers back to the Kings Island Theater to have a fantastic large set design, sound, and bring back the North Pole Penguins which were the original and 2005 Winterfest tradition (seems the penguins got dropped when the new Tinker production was made last year for Winterfest 3). Then a new production could play in the Festhaus.   Charlie Brown and Friends can move over to the new Enchanted Theater venue.  Bring back the North Pole Penguins!

I wonder if Kings Island won this becuase it wouldn't suprise me if it does, from what everyone is telling me, a lot more effort was put into WinterFest than Kings Island's Haunt, and from what I can see from watching YouTube, I'm starting to believe that's true.

When the scoreboard closed to public viewing in the last few days of the contest, Branson was in first, KI Winterfest in second, and Dollywood in third.  The top ten will be announced on Dec 21 so will see if KI could secure enough votes to move ahead of Branson to the top spot.

One of the Six Flags parks was #1 for what a day or two?  And then I never saw it again in the list at all. That was kind of weird. Wonder if it was a glitch?

This is awesome.  The fact it's only in its 2nd year (well, following a looooong break) and takes the 2nd spot shows just how awesome it is.  Great job KI!  (And great job to all that voted!)

The Cincinnati Zoo was also jyst ranked best zoo lights in America. Who would think that the Greater Cincinnati area would have some of the best holiday lights displays in the country?

I have a feeling that if Winterfest is able to maintain quality and new offerings the Zoo will be the one who suffers. It will be interesting to see how things unfold over the next 5 or so years.

A lot of people still consider the zoo to be “cheaper”. As of last year it was also more about the lights there, but with this year’s step up, the light gap could be closing. We have passes to both. Zoo, 1 time. KI, 5 and at least NYE planned.

Next year KI should advertise WF to the surrounding states like they do for their summer season.  Many out of state people do not even know that KI is open for the winter Holiday season (and that there are coasters running weather permitting!).   Hopefully KI will never cut back on their lights like Dollywood did this season.(Dollywood definitely had far less lights than in previous seasons which may be why they ended up third).

Let’s not forget that likely more people than ever have Kings Island season passes.
