Can I buy a track piece?

That would be awesome. I remember riding it as X-Flight up at 6 flags Ohio.

On the bright side there will be plenty if room to build a really big restroom back there now.

X-Base is going to be barren this season. I'm still curious if anything will become of that land between Racer and Flight of Fear
I hope that they are going to expand that whole area and connect it to the Oktoberfest portion of the park.. not only would that get rid of some of the congestion at the Oktoberfest/coney mall intersection but that would give plenty of room for a que for an opening day line for a major attraction in that area (fingers crossed) plus they could add some food stands and restrooms.. just my thoughts.

Here ya guys go. Proof that Firehawk is being torn down for those who said the pics were fake.

I had no idea you had a jetpack.:o

I use it during the winter when my fuel runs out to simulate Drop Tower.

This removal also begs the question of how much time Nighthawk and Batwing have left.

I'm going to assume they are going to send the trains and all the extra parts they had laying around to the other parks so they can keep them running for a little longer.. at least that makes the most sense to me

^Nighthawk has different trains than Firehawk since it was the prototype.  Also, SFA can't keep Batwing open.  I imagine they won't last the next 5 years, and that's probably being generous.

I assume it must have some parts in common though.

So much for any chance of it going elsewhere. Trackhoe means demolition. I suspect they are cutting track pieces from the manlift and pulling it down. Here comes scrap metal...

Heres a little bit of a closer view. Trains are still there!

Back up parts for Nighthawk, maybe?

It seems to be so. The ride looks to be taking the same route as King Cobra.

Any word if this is going to be possible??? Wouldn't mind a wheel or brake plate or something...

I strongly believe that some of the old Firehawk land is used for expansion. If a giga is the coaster coming to the park then they'll need all the room for foot traffic that they can get.

The million dollar question in my mind is, do they stop at the concrete piers, or do they bring in bulldozers to completely clear the lot? If they clear the lot, do they move any dirt beyond it? If they start terraforming, the writing will be on the wall.

These pictures you can tell they're just ripping it down, and with they way they are piling it up, off to scrap yard for the Firehawk.  However with B & M on board for an unknown project, if they do start grading the land get excited something big is coming. I believe with all the people desperately wanting a Giga, and the newsmedia clamoring around the way they have, Kings Island and Cedar Fair may have been painted into a corner to where they have to go Giga. Anything else would probably be a huge disappointment, and see an attendance drop.

I was thinking about this. Imagine if it were a dive coaster. Every headline would be about the disappointment and would completely overshadow the product. It’s obvious that dive coasters are at a discount (comparatively for a B&M) and offer a “meh” experience. They are great for high end transitional years, but not for a blockbuster landmark.

As an enthusiast, I will probably be disappointed if it's not a GiGa. I don't know if the GP would see a remarkable decline in visits. KI has a very loyal passholder population .

My wish? A GiGa Flyer from B&M!

Wow, that demolition is really .......... flying.

It’s kind of sad to see Firehawk being dismantled as I thought it was the most intense ride in the park.

I posted this picture in the Giga Speculation thread as well, but I feel its appropriate for this thread also. Here is a good picture of the land behind Firehawk, all the way to the LM River.  Quite a bit of space though. LRM_EXPORT_431902625432931_20190107_093840006.jpeg

Also, @Fye Coasters, I'd guess around the 350ft mark, as did @flightoffear1996.

It's going to be a Giga ;) any guesses on the height? Mine is taller than Fury and faster.

I think around the 350ft mark if they do.

Taller I don’t mind. Faster isn’t completely necessary. Using the natural terrain as many of our coasters do, would be great. How about a sweeping turn over the river?

That would be amazing! Please to the best of your ability KI, make it happen!

When you get down by the Little Miami River, you run into a lot of environmental issues.  I doubt any coaster will get close to that river.  This rumored coaster or any future coaster that Kings Island may install.
