September 1, 200322 yr This week PKI will announce the details about its new water resort. Do you think it will include a hotel or not?
September 1, 200322 yr I think no. They have the money I'm sure, but I don't think they'll build a hotel. Not enough time. Buildings take alot more time.
September 2, 200322 yr Nah. I think they're focusing on the new waterpark more than putting in a new hotel. It takes time and effort to put in a new hotel.
September 2, 200322 yr Sure they have the money to do it, but I don't feel as though the demand is great enough in the area to bring in the revenue that they would be looking for. Cedar Point area has Big Bear Bear Lodge and is getting ready to restructure Radison but the area is a big tourist attraction year round with it being on Lake Erie, this brings in year round business. PKI just wouldn't make enough seasonally to make it worth their while since there is nothing else in the area to attract families during the off season months. Also at this point I don't believe they would have enough time to do anything of this magnatude in what 8 months or so?
September 2, 200322 yr Author MissDi, I see the logic in your line of reasoning and greatly appreciate your contributions to this esteemed webpage. Have a great day! Sincerely, Italian Chef
September 2, 200322 yr PKI doesn't have the money. I'm sure the initial building cost and also the cost of upkeep are more then any of us can comprehend. Not to mention staffing. They can't even keep the rest of the park staffed. It won't happen, especially not if you ever want to see a new roller coaster.
September 2, 200322 yr No hotel for PKI. Resort: A place frequented by people for relaxation or recreation. Edited January 1, 197056 yr by mars1825
September 2, 200322 yr grrrr!! You people are reading into the word "resort" way too much! If they were going to get a hotel, they would have had groundbreaking last April or so. Those things take a while to build. Do they have the money? Ummm....well, they had the money to build a 200+ ft wooden rollercoaster... I'm sure building a hotel (not necessarily anything special) would be nothing to them. Don't forget, they tried the hotel thing and got out of it. The reason why they use the word "resort" instead of "water park" is because the word "resort" is affiliated with class.
September 2, 200322 yr PKI is calling the new waterpark a resort because the new waterpark won't be a regular waterpark. In 04 we will see brand new things that we have never seen before. PKI will offer loungeside service. They will also have a bar and the entire area will heavily be themed. Calling that a waterpark doesn't do it justice. That's why PKI is calling it a resort. September 2, 200322 yr I am a newbie but be sure that if PKI was going to put a hotel there, they would not spend any money. They would take bids from a hotel chain and the chain would pay them for the right to build a hotel. It could be no chain would be willing to build there. Although I agree, there is not enough off season traffic there to build a hotel. Stewwill

PKI wouldnt pay for the whole hotel maybe some of it, and they could build during the season even though a hotel in probaly not in any plans for pki in the next 5 to 10 years
September 2, 200322 yr it would be cool to see a hotel and the guests could have ERT's or something but i don't see it happening anytime soon
