What is the length and width of the fountains at King's Island?

The Royal Fountain is 320 feet long and I believe 90 feet wide. It was designed by Charles Flatt, former manager of Coney Island's Sunlite Pool. The fountain was built by Fountain Specialists Company of Milford, Ohio. The pool holds about 600,000 gallons and sends about 10,000 gallons of water through the pipes at one time.

To be exact, the fountain has 106 nozzles and 336 lights. I have all of the water and light sequences memorized, as many of you know already.

And since I know you know the answer to this, how long is the typical sequence before it repeats?

Originally 10-12 minutes depending upon the cycle.

The current cycle is about 14 minutes. There are 24 light sequences and 13 fountain sequences.

Here's something I always wondered until recently  - how it works.  

Basically, the best way I can understand it is by imagining one of those lamp timers for use at home.  Underneath the grandstand, there's a round disc that has pegs that can be removed/changed.  As the timer disc rotates, the pegs turn the nozzles and lights on and off - thus changing the cycle.  

There's also a wind indicator that can reduce the pressure of the water to avoid the water from spraying into the midway.

It should also be noted that the filtration for the fountain runs off the pedestals. You can tell because they still cycle water after the show elements have been shut off.

I think so much of the Royal Fountains that I work sitting and watching them into every visit.  Sometime I think I'm going to come one visit and just spend most of the time sitting by them.  They are amazing, for anywhere in the world, let alone that we have something like that here in southern Ohio.

I can never get enough of sitting by the fountains. I have to be sitting by them at 8:04pm, because that's what time the lights come on. Don't ask me why it's 8:04 though. I would love to have a tour of the control room under the bandstand sometime. I highly doubt I could go in there unless I become a maintenance guy.
