May 31, 20188 yr From what I have heard Blackjack has been cannibalized for parts and is missing a lot of wheels so 3 trains may not be possible yet. Then again, if they can get the parts there in time maybe they can get it running. @JubJester Have fun trying to get to sleep tonight if they pull an all nighter testing. I would suggest taking some Ambien but I heard on Twitter that stuff can do weird things like turn you into a Vekoma Fan or worse.

The cabin area I am in is just across the road from SV, so I can just hear it roaring (which is cool). The first big hill is basically right above our cabin. They haven't let down on testing. It seems like they are picking up the pace, because there's not a time where I can't hear the lift or the train rolling by. I may start a journal, because it may be a long night. "...at zero three hundred hours, I have yet gather one second of sleep." Being a Vekoma fan is my worst nightmare! I'm scared that you added, "or worse".
May 31, 20188 yr ^ Will do. It is still running, and running at full force. I can slightly hear it through my headset.
May 31, 20188 yr Smart man. I always bring my cans when I go camping as there is inevitably one in the group that desperately needs a CPAP but refuses to beleive they snore.
May 31, 20188 yr They didn't stop testing until after four. I fell asleep at 2:30, and I woke up hearing it test around 4. They are still testing it as I type.
May 31, 20188 yr Why are they going through all this trouble to get it up and going for an enthusiast event? They should have closed it for a few days during the 8pm closings.
May 31, 20188 yr Enthusiasts from around the country will be on-hand for CoasterMania, with Steel Vengeance as the star attraction. CP clearly doesn't want to disappoint. Not to mention, cedar Fair publicizes their Golden Ticket Awards, which are voted on by enthusiasts.
May 31, 20188 yr There have been photos of new brake systems arriving and sitting on pallets as recently as a few days ago. If there really are 1,200 attendees a 300/hour ride is not going to have great ERT.

Is there a better time to do this?

June 1, 20188 yr I am waiting in line, it is running two trains. But wait time is two and half hours during ERT. EDIT: I should point out this was the posted wait time. Actual wait was about an hour.
June 1, 20188 yr SV is back on FLP. However due to the requirement that the other train must be back on the brake run to dispatch a train, the capacity of the ride is nearly 600, which is 240 more than one train operation.
June 1, 20188 yr Thats odd that they have that requirement for two train operations. Almost sounds like they aren't confident in running two trains, but yet they still are.
June 1, 20188 yr They must be confident that the train on the track will stop before colliding with the one in the station.

Call me crazy and I know absolutely nothing about coaster cycles, but doesn't it make sense that there should be no need to worry about collisions from the train on the brake run, if they would simply dispatch the train in the station that has been recently loaded with passengers? iow, can't have a collision if there is nothing to run into...am I wrong?
June 1, 20188 yr I feel like they can't/won't dispatch one train until the other is on the brake run in order to avoid a more serious collision somewhere else on the ride. Yeah it was bad that two trains bumped in the station, but no one was really hurt.
June 1, 20188 yr I would think that the programming would be pretty easy to stop the train on the hill if it hadn't cleared the brake run at the end of the ride, but that could cause a lot of wear and tear on the gearbox as well.
June 1, 20188 yr Must want to have the train safely in the station before releasing the 2nd train off the lift
June 1, 20188 yr Is it just me or does RMC need to evaluate who they subcontract work out to. You have the launch on lightning rod, this, parterning with vekoma.....
June 1, 20188 yr Upon further review on a real POV, it doesn't appear the brakes before the station are long enough to accommodate a train, or at least something where the train behind it would be super close to it if they stacked all 3.
