Just got here after getting off work at 4. Anybody know what restaurants are open later since the park closes at 12 tonight?

As we were walking through Planet Snoopy with our boys this evening, we were approached by a staff member that said she likes to find families with kids that like Snoopy and we're given this!

I know it's too late to help you, but we found out last night that Chick-Fil-A was open until midnight.

Many/most of the restaurants not on International Street close an hour before closing.

So I have a question- why does KI hold auditions for instrument players when the Off the Charts band is third party?

Turned out most of the places were open after 10 and till closing so I was good. I got some LaRosa's shortly after 10 in Rivertown, enjoyed the fireworks and then rode Mystic (which is crazy awesome at night) and The Beast (which was also great at 11:30 at night) and headed home. Great way to spend the evening after work.

Right now, they're auditioning for Winterfest....so that could be a reason....they've also done the Kings Island 5 thing in the past.

I saw the 90's show in the Festhaus for the first time, and I have mixed feelings.  Some of the singers are genuinely good, but most of them can't hit intervals and miss key changes while there's a lot of clashing going on in the vocal chords (music chords, not the muscle). Also, Madonna's Vogue in a family theme park?  Really? (which, they butcher, it was grating hearing the female singer perform it so over-dramatically, its a much smoother performance from Madonna on that song).  Also, if you can't get the singers to sing up certain octaves that drastically change the chord structures by having them down the octave, cut the song please.  They also didn't really get the vocal stylings all that well either.

Off The Charts was refreshing to listen to after hearing that show in the Festhaus.

Anyone else noticed that the main Kings Island pages are posting a looooot about Congo Falls on social media?

Hmmm I have not noticed. I just looked at KI's tweeter and FB and don't see anything.

EDIT* I see 1 post on 7/10/17**

I didn't know they were an actual band (as in, outside of KI); that's so cool! :D Although don't see Off The Charts as often as Cirque or the 90's show, I usually watch it if I'm staying late at the park - it reminds me of the bands who used to play at the Blue Ash Towne Square when I was a kid (and now, to some extent, as there was a concert series up there as of last summer).

Could do with the fact that it's hot as crap out.

Thats probably it but I just thought it was interesting. I always have theories about Congo Falls!

I have been finally picking up on the excitement about Cedar Point's announcement on August 16th, and now I'm starting to wonder if Kings Island will be making an official announcement about next year around that time too?

Just got back from the park today, they had the tower gardens closed up with some construction going on in it. Have fun with the rumor mill guys. :)

The Dippin Dots guy told me that we were getting a clone of Mean Streak.

They had some pipes laying near where they were digging, that appeared to possibly be for electrical conduit? They seemed too narrow to be useful as water pipes for most applications.

Hopefully they have found a better use for it than just a giant smoking area.

The KI app just updated and it says that ride wait times have been made more prominent. So hopefully that means they'll be back for people like me who had them entirely disappear.

Won't be able to try it out personally until tomorrow.

I'm going to assume, probably wrongfully so, that it has to do with Winterfest.

I noticed that construction yesterday as well. I also feel confident in an assumption that it is for Winterfest. Maybe the Crafter's Village?

Nah it's for sure going to be space for footers for the giga coaster that's gonna be built between AE and FOF. For sure nothing to do with winterfest. Why would they build something in a smoking area... :P

I wouldn't be heartbroken if they dug up all of the smoking areas and planted trees.

People would just be smoking all over the park again then.

You mean kinda like they do now? I see at least one or two people smoking outside of the smoking areas every time I go.

Off topic but its a sad day. There was an accident at the Ohio Sate fair and a ride malfunctioned. There was 1 death and 6 injured. I am grateful that Cedar Fair as a wonderful team that takes care of our rides. Prayers out to the families. This is was I do not ride the rides they take down and put back up every other week.

See and respond to topic started here.

A couple of things I noticed today.  Mystic Timbers steps now have antislip treads on them. I will post a pic later. Also, tried the Black and Blue burger at Jukebox diner.  Pretty good. The new order kiosks were screwing up on me but they manually rang in my order. Jukebox is improving.
