They seem to use that as a dumping ground for excess dirt.  It could be simply dirt that was not needed by Mystic Timbers.  Instead of paying to dispose of it offsite, they simply dump it out there.

As we were walking through Planet Snoopy with our boys this evening, we were approached by a staff member that said she likes to find families with kids that like Snoopy and we're given this!

I saw this online today and it made me grin from ear to ear. Just around 15 more days left! https://www.pinterest.com/pin/292945150743576684/

This season, I plan on making more short evening trips than full day trips due to the work schedule (unless I can get a few off days switched around).  I'm used to going more for full days, and I was just curious on how to approach it.  To put it another way, switching mindsets to be able to get the most out of short trips as someone used to going for a full days (those will still happen).

Look at it the way I look at going to KI/CP by having a season pass I don't feel like I have to do everything on one visit because I know I'll be back soon.

When you do that, you don't have to worry about getting every single thing you want to do done....the biggest thing is be flexible.

I agree, I can only go on weekends and definitely can't afford Fast Lane Everytime so I just remember if it crazy I always have next time.

Yeah, I'm really hoping they bring back Off The Charts or a variation thereof as they did most of their shows in the evening.

Also, I usually reserve one day at KI for a Fast Lane day and splurge, but I think I will save that for one of the days I'm at Cedar Point.

This. But I only go to KI once a year, I hope to squeeze in a second visit this year. But I'll get in my fill of rides at CS. Although, I go to CP many times a year and I know that if I don't go on a particular ride one vist, there's always next time. Just think about 99% of other guests in the park with you don't get to go as much as you.

The nineties is my second favorite decade for music...after the eighties. My wife will love this show!

Oh. My. Gosh. This is awesome. When does it start? If it's really awesome, I hope it lasts more than 1 season like "The Boyz are Back". I'm super pumped! :D

This will be heavily interesting as I will be working at Panda Express in the Festhaus this year, so I'll probably get to watch the show a lot.

While "The Boyz are Back" was an okay show, I'm hoping it's much better.

I drove by the park today on my way to Great Wolf Lodge to get my girlfriend a Valentine's Day gift and my spirits lifted. The lack of leaves on the trees gave me a perfect view of MT and it fits in so perfectly!

Clearly that is some foundation and concrete work.  I can`t pinpoint where in the park this is located though.  It might be Banshee in the top left of the image.  Clearly related to Winterfest with the #Homefortheholidays tag.

I can't find where it is in the park either, looking at the webcams and Google Earth.  They've done a lot of off season work that's for sure!

This was posted a few weeks ago, looks like it's something that's going to be in the front of the park...

I would assume Home for the Holidays is the name of a show at Winterfest. I can't imagine what would need to be built this early for Winterfest, though. Definitely curious.

Maybe its simply because of how busy they expect to be with other decorations for haunt and winterfest, including a presumably new haunt show or maze (the computer screen).
Did the preparations to turn the fountain into a skating rink take awhile? I know they usually started doing that at the end of the season back when paramount brought it back for one year

When Paramount brought back Winterfest in 2005, the fountain was drained by about the first weekend in October so that they could start the process of building the wooden platform upon which the ice skating rink was built.  The final weekend of the 2005 regular season was actually the first weekend in November, if my memory serves me correct.  There was an odd juxtaposition of Haunt decorations and Fear Fest (as it was known at the time) decorations up, especially on International Street.

I wouldn't doubt it, the park even said that guests will get the best view of MT from WWC. I'm speculating that train ridership will also increase before the Soak City season even begins.

Then it'll even out again~

Who knows, perhaps there might be room in the budget for the park to retheme parts of the train ride to MT.

Well I certainly wouldnt know.

But I was commenting on the amount of people riding the train will eventually level back to typical amounts after people get used to the new ride eye candy on the route
