January 15, 201610 yr I have a huge question. I'm taking my Aunt who hasn't been to the park in 20+ years. I want to take her on either, Friday May 27th, or Memorial Day 2016. I want to make sure I'm taking her on a good day, on either of the dates, so she can get ALOT of rides in. I know Soak City is opening on that weekend. There will be 9 or 10 of us going to the park that day. Thanks so much to whoever can answer my question! ~ S
January 15, 201610 yr There are lots of forum posts dedicated to this question. Much is dependent on the weather; but, generally speaking, most holiday weekends will be busy. If you're concerned about getting rides in, purchase FastLane or FastLane Plus. There is a nice discount on the FL and FL+ passes if 4 or more are purchased together in one transaction (1 credit card, or cash).
January 15, 201610 yr I'd watch the weather first and foremost. A warm, but cloudy day or even a day with a chance of rain can make for small crowds. All things being equal, the Friday before Memorial Day would be your better bet; then again, many people have family cookouts and what not on Memorial Day, so that could lead to smaller crowds as well.
January 15, 201610 yr I would always choose a weekday (even if it's friday) over a holiday (even if it's a Monday). Soak City opening weekend will be packed, especially because of the new Tropical Plunge attraction. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
January 15, 201610 yr My first trips to Kings Island (early 1990's) were a lot like yours is going to be. No matter what, you're going to have fun. Take lots of pics.
January 15, 201610 yr In my opinion, weather being equal, Memorial Day will be far less busy than the preceding Friday. Out of towners will be driving home, many will avoid the park that Monday as they suspect it will be packed, the park will be better staffed....
January 16, 201610 yr If going to Soak City is important, be aware that Soak City does NOT open until Saturday, May 28. It will be closed on Friday the 27th.
January 16, 201610 yr And many of those who go Friday not realizing Soak City doesn't open until the next day will be in the dry park.
