• 1. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Giga coaster at Kings Island, since that seems to be the way things are trending for the larger Cedar Fair parks (not sure about the "more popular" sister parks com

 • A Triotech dark ride and a giga seem inevitable for the near future of KI

 • You say people only go to X-Base to ride FoF & Firehawk, is there anything else to do back there? My son isn't quite up to 54", hopefully by the time we make our next visit in the fall, so I have

That would be interesting to see Dorney get a new coaster since their last install was Stinger back in 2012.

I think KI gets a coaster in 2018 at the earliest, but possibly/probably 2019. CF tends to be only doing one coaster per year. CP gets 2016. Both KD and CW have had longer stretches than KI since their last coaster. If thats the standard that CF uses, both should get one before KI. The drop coaster addition to CP out of cycle suggests that CF probably looks more at "holes in the lineup" and other factors than just who got one last. In that case, CW has a fairly well rounded lineup and CF may not see a need to put another there soon. I also don't know how/if Knott's factors into things. Either way, I think we see either a flat or dark ride in 17, the other in 18, and finally the giga in 19.

CW's lineup is sorely missing a decent ride with inversions... Currently have an Arrow Looper, Vekoma Boomerang, Vekoma SLC and a Zamperla Volare...

There is a park in Allentown, Pennsylvania....

Well CF has other parks, but they don't seem to work on the same schedule as their "Big 5". After thinking about it, I'm not sure I should have included KD in my account. CP, CW, KI, KBF are there biggest attendance parks(If you believe TEA), and its clear they want to move Carowinds up the charts as well.

Using that logic, the only decent ride at KI with inversions is Banshee.

Sometimes, Terp's posts don't necessarily relate to other posts.

Terp, who has said perhaps two much all ready.

"Two" much? Are you saying that Dorney is getting two coasters next year?

jcgoble3, interpreting (or attempting to :P)

The 2019 coaster renderings where already in place prior to Banshee being built. It will be a Mack giga coaster, that will utilize a cable lift which will easily clear Banshee. It will have the same trains that are currently used for Blue Fire at Europa, the track color will be blue with a combination of white and silver supports.

Sure, if you pretend FoF, Firehawk and Vortex don't exist...

Well you are disregarding

Well I try to pretend that FoF doesn't exist... but Firehawk and Time warp are similar. Dragon Fire and Vortex are similar. You said those rides aren't decent at CW, so that means they aren't decent at KI right?...

Sorry... Did you just say Firehawk and Time Warp are similar?

In my humble opinion, a more inaccurate statement about coasters has never been made. Firehawk is one of my favorite rides at KI. Time Warp ranks solidly as the second-worst coaster I've ever ridden, surpassed only by that horrendous SLC right next to it.

Kind of an aside, but FWIW, I would also say that Superman: Ultimate Flight is also not similar to Firehawk.

^^^And how am I supposed to get that out of my head now??? It's just a jump to the left...

I agree with homestar92 that Firehawk isn't similar to Time Warp at all... Yes, you're lying down in both, but a ride on Firehawk in no way feels like I've been duct taped to the front of a car and driven through a cornfield at high speeds...

And though KI's Vortex and Dragon Fire have the same manufacturer and trains, the ride is very, very different... It's kinda like a Corvette and a Vega... Both have wheels and seats and the same manufacturer, but one is much better than the other...

Indeed, but Cedar Point is in no way short on land.

Not even close.

I agree that there's land to work with as far as Cedar Point, but IMO being surrounded by water and already being so established that they're not going to make any drastic changes anytime soon... I've taken several good looks at CP's actual land layout and there are a few possibilities of building that OMG attraction in the future, but I just don't believe their land is as readily available as some of the other park's in the chain. If Dick Kinzel was still running the show for Cedar Fair I'd say that something big is going to happen soon for CP, but the Matt Ouimet era to me is going a different route.

It's all fun, but my money's on Mason being the recipient of the next BIG B&M!

^ Something tells me either something really cool, or really sad is going to happen in the near future.

Cedar Dorms (the employee housing across Perimeter Road from Valravn) will probably be taken out soon and replaced with new ones at the dorm complex on the mainland, combined with a redirect of Perimeter Road. They replaced the dorms formerly behind Corkscrew.

A toast to you, Sir!

I just threw a piece of toast at my monitor....

Jan 7, 2015 "Q: All company can order an Iron Horse treatment on their coasters or it’s just reserved to six flags?

A: Any park can have our IBox or “IronHorse” system. Six Flags has just been so great to work with and they are keeping us busy! But, there are projects at other parks coming up in the next 2 years that utilize our IBox Track."

We know 2016's, but who are 2017's??

Just quoting as I run for the door. Lol

Sent from a signal coming out of the Vega system.
