Cedar Fair has just filed a new trademark for the name Valravn. Many people who follow me on instagram think it will be Cedar Point's 2016 project. Thoughts? I'm on mobile so I can't post a photo onto it. The serial number is 86601000

What is with these crazy names lately?

Perhaps Ivar the Boneless, or some of the other the sons of Ragnar have taken hold of the naming of rides and such.

No...  Cedar Point Park Company is for Cedar Point.

These types of names belong in an actual Theme Park. They just seem silly when slapped onto random rides at Cedar Point.

My guess is a dark ride of some kind.

I think that since it is supposed to be a Raven it would be a B&M Invert or Flyer if some sort.

Definitely a dark ride/invert/Flying attraction. Possibly the starter of this dark ride campaign rooted with WMG and Steel Reef at Knott's?

It seems that dark rides tend to have phrases as names rather than single words (although I still miss Earthquake!), so I think it will be either a coaster or high thrill flat.

Well, Cedar Fair Entertainment is a company that is very innovative with the guest experience so you never know. I get your point, and I do not wish to discredit it as I too agree; just simply putting out some ideas for discussion. Possibly this will be the hinted Dive Machine for CP?

Valravn would be an incredible name for, oh, I dunno, a B&M Dive Coaster.

The rumored Dive Coaster is exactly what I thought when I saw this news on Twitter earlier today.

It would be a great name for a Dive Coaster.............in an appropriately themed park.

Every time I read the name the voice in my head says "valvern". I have a feeling this is going to be hard for me to unlearn, so I hope it won't be at a park I actually go to.

Matt Ouimet said not to expect a dark ride until 2017, so if it were for a dark ride, it wouldn't have been filed this early.

This could turn into some interesting merchandise. I could see a t-shirt of Gatekeeper vs. Valravn similar to the Behemoth vs. Leviathan shirts.

Gee, I would hope that the Raven doesn't go THAT far!

The Dive Machine would work as a few Dive Machines are themed as birds, Shiekra for example. Plus, it would follow suit with their hierarchy of birds home to the Point. (hey, at least it isn't a Trademark for Seagull)

Fury 325 was going to be Centurion (I think) but they ran into legal problem (I believed, I could be wrong )

I thought it was a red herring, something to psych out coaster fans everywhere kind of like when KI "leaked" plans early for Banshee on a "secret" website for just a few hour when the plans were pretty much gate keeper in different colors. - that's what I heard that it was just a big "we are going to lead you this way so you don't see what's really happening till we want you too"
