I'm assuming this is the Magic Mountain Colossus? The one that's supposed to be used in their future ride, Twisted Colossus?

Looks like It was on the lift hill. It seems like every RMC coaster has a fire :P (Goliath, Outlaw Run etc.)

Wow, I wonder what caused it. Thankfully it's closed.

Hopefully it doesn't cause a huge setback in Twisted Colossus.

Looks like they moved the video as it was no longer "breaking".

It was the one at SFMM.

Oh no! Lets all boycott amusement parks, for they are unsafe......

My attempt to mock the commenters on Facebook

EDIT: Or the massive amount of people claiming insurance fraud

Wow! Looks like the response was swift and effective though! It could've been much worse!

"Well boys; time to redraw the plans. It will now be a 90 degree drop from the first hill"

Probably helped there were people actively on site versus over the night or some such

Glad no one was hurt. Maybe Colossus wanted to die with dignity and not be turned into as steel rollercoaster? :P

Holy god, that looks dreadful. Luckily they actually had pressure in the hoses, otherwise, well, you know.

This is now the top trending item on Facebook. Cue the clueless comments from the general public.

Sparked by the welders I read somewhere

Yep.....tells me steel & wood doesn't mix.

Lesson learned?

same topic, different subject.... Years and years and a few more ago- didn't The Beast have a fire at the bottom of one of the hills that caused a section to have to be replaced? I'm talking early-mid 1980's- anyone recall?

The irony of the Rocky Mountain crew posting the ALS ice bucket challenge video today... in front of Colossus. Video
