March 26, 201511 yr Author i do not live near GL so i don't have pictures but there are some speculations that the Big Dipper may be leaving soon, or if it was just trespassers
March 26, 201511 yr Trespassers ON the structure? That doesn't seem very likely. Certainly wouldn't be the first time though. Carowinds was a victim a few years back when Intimidator was built.
March 26, 201511 yr Fences being taken down today and people climbing the Dipper, I hope this isn't demolision And taking down fences!

March 27, 201511 yr Author i just hope they save the last part of Geauga Lake but Wildwater Kingdom i really don't care for
March 28, 201511 yr Author i would not expect them to be around another 5 years or less 2 reasons: 1. low attendance 2. you haven't added a new thing in YEARS
March 28, 201511 yr i would not expect them to be around another 5 years or less 2 reasons: 1. low attendance 2. you haven't added a new thing in YEARS Combine 1 and 2 and maybe infer that adding a new thing may increase attendance even in the slightest?
March 28, 201511 yr Yeah, but worth the money? If it would be, wouldn't it have been done by now? Couldn't things removed from other parks at least be sent there were the park one with a future? (See Dorney Park....and....Wildwater Kingdom).
March 28, 201511 yr Well if the "dry" side of the park wasn't razed to the ground with authority, then it would make sense to have older rides sent to this park. Now it seems like it would cost as much to rebuild the dry side as it would cost to build a brand new park from scratch.
March 28, 201511 yr I speak of the waterpark... As in it speaks volumes that attractions at other Cedar Fair waterparks aren't even being sent here... The topic IS Wildwater Kingdom and its future...
March 29, 201511 yr I speak of the waterpark... As in it speaks volumes that attractions at other Cedar Fair waterparks aren't even being sent here... The topic IS Wildwater Kingdom and its future... I didn't even think of other water parks former stuff. I thought about all rides in general. Carry on!!!
March 29, 201511 yr I've often thought that if either operating or closing the waterpark enhanced the value of the rest of the park property or made it easier to sell...
March 29, 201511 yr I havnt been up to the area in almost 5 years but the land looked devastated. The abandoned land made it seem dirty or broken.
March 29, 201511 yr The fact the other property apparently still hasn't sold after all this time speaks volumes. It can't bode well for the waterpark.
March 30, 201511 yr So, I get that they closed the amusement rides side because of money/competition/etc. But I will never understand why they closed the amusement rides side and yet they STILL kept a waterpark open long term. Their only standalone waterpark. In northern Ohio. How does that make any more sense than just keeping the amusement park operational? Why would they pick the waterpark to stay over the rides??
March 30, 201511 yr I am surprised that Wildwater Kingdom is still open (and probably still profitable) considering that it doesn't seem to cater to a specific niche due to its small size and location. It doesn't have enough attractions to appeal to families with young kids or to thrill seekers and its location isn't conducive to attracting vacationers. I will say that Thunder Falls is amazing but the entire waterpark is do-able in less than 2 hours which isn't great if you want to generate more in-park spending through food and drinks.Other than convenience to the local northeast Ohio area, there seems to be no lure to visit and even the convenience factor isn't great since there are many other smaller, but still equitable, waterparks that serve the Cleveland/Akron area.
