April 17, 201610 yr I just wish they wouldn't close The Beast at the fireworks, my friends and I would make it a point to try and get on the ride as the fireworks are going off. Now if you want to get a ride on The Beast after 9:45 you have to wait until at least 10:15 to actually get on the ride. Last year I got a ride at 11:00 on a 10:00 closing night due to this, which was pitch black, so I guess it wasn't all bad.
April 17, 201610 yr They have to do that. Rozzi's shoots the fireworks not even 100 yards from where the big guy roams (close to the covered brake run). They don't want to risk embers or debris hitting riders. They also have to check the track for said embers before clearing it to ride.
April 17, 201610 yr And before anyone says, "They didn't used to do that," the launch site was moved.
April 17, 201610 yr Wasn't the launch site closer to where Firehawk is now and was moved because of Firehawk's location?
April 17, 201610 yr I was on WindSeeker during the fireworks one night last season. It looks as though the launch site is also close to the turnaround for the blue Racer. But I remember seeing the coasters run. I just can't remember if it was both, or just one side. It made me curious last year and I forgot to ask. Do they run both sides or just the red side during fireworks? Side note- if the timing works out, being on WindSeeker during fireworks is pretty darn awesome. That is if you like fireworks and heights.
April 17, 201610 yr Vortex fireworks rides are highly underrated. With Vortex's intense layout, the inversions and speed, its an awesome bit of beautiful chaos.
April 17, 201610 yr Agreed Vortex during the fireworks felt like a scene right out of a movie. Claiming the lift as they start and going through a loop and looking up as a big red firework explodes Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
April 17, 201610 yr I already understand all things stated above, I'm just saying I wish I could ride Beast watching fireworks again. lol oh you guys!
April 17, 201610 yr Vortex fireworks rides are highly underrated. With Vortex's intense layout, the inversions and speed, its an awesome bit of beautiful chaos.I for one would also agree. I've had a handful of fireworks rides on Vortex, and no two have been alike. The only thing those instances have in common is the unparalleled experience of colorful explosions swirling about as you are turned upside down. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING else, can replicate that.WindSeeker rides during the fireworks, on the other hand, are entirely another experience of their own. I had the privilege of experiencing that firsthand on May 23, 2014.
April 17, 201610 yr Personally my place to catch the fireworks now is on Shake Rattle and Roll, the lighting between that ride and WindSeeker and the fireworks being right around the corner make for a great experience.
April 22, 201610 yr Walking in now, it's filling up quick though Sent from my Pip-Boy 3000 via Tapatalk
April 22, 201610 yr So it looks on the webcams like Banshee and DB are closed? You guys getting storm related closures?
April 22, 201610 yr So it looks on the webcams like Banshee and DB are closed? You guys getting storm related closures? According to my weather app, there are storms moving through the KI area, so I assume so.
April 22, 201610 yr As of 6PM the park looks dead on the cams. I'm trying to talk the wife into going over there after I get off work at 7.
April 22, 201610 yr So I'm new and I know this doesn't pertain to what this thread is exactly about but have there been talks about developing an app for wait times like the one for CP? I know you can view them in KI's app but you have to be in the park to do so. I'm curious if there is enough of a community to allow something like this to function properly. If there's a thread for this are all and someone could hit me up with a link that would be great.
April 22, 201610 yr Welcome to KIC. You will find the info here more accurate than an app. See also: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/31930-theme-park-app/
April 22, 201610 yr Not to mention, their jackAPP doesnt allow you to see ride wait times if your device location doesnt show as "in the park". That alone, was enough to make me pull it off my phone. If I would happen to be in the area, those times would very likely be a "go or no go" factor in whether or not I stopped by to grab a few rides on my way by.
April 22, 201610 yr Almost to the park now. Hoping the storm ran some people off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
April 22, 201610 yr Diamondback is lined up back to the first fun TV, about 15 minutes. Otherwise it looks like 5-10 minute waits. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
April 22, 201610 yr Rides were down for a while around 4:45. We had dinner and when we got done, everything is back up. Lines are pretty light. Beast was about 10 minutes.
April 23, 201610 yr I usually see fireworks every time riding Vortex. Maybe from the shots to the head from the restraints???
April 23, 201610 yr Talking the wife in KI was a success. Just rode Diamondback with a 5 minute wait. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
April 23, 201610 yr Just got stuck on the 2nd beast hill for about 10 minutes. Was hoping we'd get to walk down but riding was fun too. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
April 23, 201610 yr For all of the wrap lovers, I just got the most monstrous chicken wrap from Chicken Shack on the dining plan. Either the staff didn't know it wasn't included or they've changed the options on the dining plan. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
April 23, 201610 yr Banshee dispatching trains with three people on it, walked right on. I want to give a kudos to Emily working Diamondback tonight. Very friendly, waving at the riders as they left, just overall an enthusiastic employee who helps make a KIBestDay. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
