Today and tomorrow are finally the midpoint of the offseason. Today it is 84 days until opening day, and 83 days since closing day. Tomorrow is 83 until opening and 84 since closing.

Gosh it seems like forever.

When you start making plans to visit other Cedar Fair parks during the summer since they released their schedule of operating hours.

When you go on your backyard swing, close your eyes, and pretend your on Zephyr.

When you put the things you have collected from Kings Island everywhere in your home and watch povs all day

When you put on you KI hoodie and POVs on a rain day just wishing you were really there

When you get really excited when the first day of your spring break is the first day SFSL is open (55 days!)

When it feels like you've spent about as much at car washes as on gasoline this month.

I wash my car regularly during the summer, full details. I like the break in the winter of washing it once a month or so depending on salt/road grime.

When it's February and you are already saving up money to go to the park in May and July!

When your anxiety to get back on a ride is like an adrenaline rush that won't stop!

When I get excited about a local event just because it is called "Winterfest."

When you feel slightly guilty that the first roller coaster of 2016 will not be The Beast, as is the usual tradition.  And you have gotten over the guilt of riding other coasters after The Beast in 2015, as is the usual tradition.

When you have a hard time finding your dark colored vehicle in the parking lot because like every other vehicle in the lot, it has turned white.

When you make it official by putting in vacation days in your meeting calendar, direct bosses calendar, indirect bosses calendar, and tracking spreadsheet for dates from opening day to closing day.

When you're looking at ferry schedules trying to plan how to visit the islands in Lake Erie near Sandusky and hope that the weather cooperates.

 

Right now I'm thinking the daytime island-hopping cruise would be a good way to see Kelleys Island and Put-In-Bay. The ferry to Middle Bass Island from the mainland leaves from Catawba, which would give me an excuse to go by the lighthouse again...

I have been away way too long!

When you sit back looking at the thick snow and watch POVs of The Beast and Banshee.

When you are figuring out ways to get all the RMC credits 

I will ride Wildfire, one day...

When I build a snowman!

 

And also when I see a Valravn photo from Cedar Point on Instagram and I get excited...

When you go from cold and snowy to lower 60s and windy in less than a week.

When the park posts a photograph and states that The Beast trains are back on the track and ready for opening day, and you breathe deeply and all seems right with the world for a moment.
