When your already trying to figure out a way to avoid the front gate photographers.

....When you are looking at the webcams hoping to see rides testing.

 

And when looking at said webcams, you get excited when you see a truck or a person moving.

When it's almost Reds opening day

When you're walking past the TV at work and have to stop and turn around real quick because you though you saw a half second clip of Millenium Force in a commercial.

When you cant decide what Kings T-shirt's to wear on Media Day and Opening Day. 

When you are on the webcams every minute of every day it feels like

You know it's the Off Season when everyone is getting excited for Opening Day and you're all like "yeah yeah yeah, but Kings Island is the real Opening Day for me"

When its literally 5 days away, and your so excited that you can barely make this post!

When you are trying to decide which KI t-shirt to wear to work Friday (gotta love casual Fridays)

When you are trying to figure out how to get the $ together for All Season Dining Plan on your Platinum Pass.

When the smell of rain on a blacktop parking lot reminds of walking through Frontiertown at Cedar Point.

When you start brushing up on your DDR skills with your home version because you'll soon be playing on a machine in the arcade!

(on that note I'm praying they didn't take out the last machine. They already took out one in the arcade by The Beast, and for what, a prize redemption table that I never saw being used in my 10+ visits last year... :/ )

I was there almost 60 times, and spent a lot of time in that arcade (Wizard of Oz coin pushers) and I never saw it in use either :-/

Well, the 2016-2017 off season is officially here...

 

At least we will have a new roller coaster to look forward to in 2017, and the return of Winterfest!

...when all who attend Closing Day rave about their "last ride of the season" experiences, some of whom also lament the impending ride withdrawal that's bound to happen sooner or later (hopefully later).

Less than 12 hours into it and I'm already in withdrawal. And there's an area of Mystic Timbers I wanted to reference, but I don't have recent good pics, and I can't go take any now! *crying*

...when you miss seeing Blood Drums live while passing out trick-or-treats (though the 2 shows I did see were fantastic!)

It dawns on you you are now 6 months away from another rollercoaster ride.

Planning for next year.

 

The offseason for me hopefully ends in March with a trip to Texas. Maybe sooner. I may do Dollywood before the end of the season.

 

33 total theme park visits for all parks in 2016. 26 visits to Kings Island, 5 visits to Cedar Point, 1 visit apiece to Kentucky Kingdom and Indiana Beach.

 

8 new credits this year. Valravn, Steel Hawg, Hoosier Hurricane, Tig'rr, T3, Storm Chaser, Lightning Run, and Thunder Run.

 

I'm at 92 coasters now. New Texas Giant tentatively will be #100 in March. Can't wait for 2017!

When you're going to the Magic Kingdom tomorrow, but still pull up the quiet King's Island webcams tonight...just because it's "home".  :-)
