Featured Replies

Season Passes will go on sale soon, who will be purchasing or renewing their pass, will you be upgrading at all, downgrading?

I would like to know when exactly when they on sale for renewal if anyone knows.

I for one will be renewing my Platinum Pass, along with the rest of my family.

So what are you guys doing, and please awnser my question if you can.

Just remember, travel to Canada requires a passport. Canada is not the 51st state.

  • I haven't decided which pass yet...if Cedar Point doesn't put in at least three more Intamin coasters for 2014 then I might only get a gold pass for KI.

I guess I walked right into that one, but if anyone knows when they will be able for purchase please let me know.

And is it true that on labor day are Season passes cheapest, even for renewal?

I will be upgrading my kids passes to platinum next year.

I know that the passes go on sale August 30, and thinking should be around $85 for gold passes new or renewal pricing, last year was $79.99 and usually go up $5 every year. Platnum passes are usually double that price thinking $169?? but we will see August 30 what the prices will be .

If it's like years past, the lowest prices will be offered from Labor Day weekend until the end of Haunt.

Supposedly, renewing over Labor Day weekend enters you to win prizes during Dollar Days, provided you're in the park when you "win". (How did that work last year?)

Prices for 2012 (in fall 2011) were $70 for gold and $150 for platinum. Prices for 2013 (in fall 2012) were $80 for gold and $164 for platinum.

good to see my math skills are correct from last year to this year.

I'm planning on getting a pass for next year. I hope they have that deal where you get a ticket for this year with the purchase. I've been antsy to get back to the park.

I'll renew the families' Platinum. Does anyone know how long the 2013 Platinum pass is valid? I'm planning to hit Knotts in November/December and wondering if this years works or a 2014 needs to be purchased.

The 2013 platinum pass is valid through December 31, though Knott's is the only place it's useful after October 27.

In previous years, some people have reported that their season passes stopped working for the current year after renewing for the next year. If you renew at KI, I'd recommend using it for re-entry that day just to be sure. (Getting a handstamp too, just in case!)

I'd like to get a platinum pass but I don't know if I will get a chance to take full advantage of it, so I'll probably renew our family's gold passes.

I have platinum now, but will most likely buy a 2014 gold pass on closing day as I am unlikely to make it to any other parks except the Beach and possibly HW next year. I need to save money for a Star Wars convention, Disneyland, Knott's, and maybe Magic Mountain in April 2015.

I will be renewing Platinum for my family. I am going to add Kings Dominion to my parks visited list next year along with several trips to Cedar Point and my normal 50-60 trips to Kings Island.

I have typically been going to Kings Island and Cedar Point and it really paid for itself, but next year we are possibly seeking an expansion towards hitting up Canada's Wonderland, and Kings Dominion.

King Dominion is a little more out there, but I'm looking forward to Canada's Wonderland.

Like always, I will renew my Gold Pass for the 12th consecutive year. With little ones at home, going anywhere other than KI is a stretch for me, since I live 2 hrs away. If I go anywhere else, it'll be a one-off trip to CP. That, plus I try and make it to WDW 2 times a year :)

No brainer for me to renew my Platinum pass for next year. I feel I got my money's worth out of it so I feel I will next year too.

You can't skip out on Magic Mountain. That's a top 3 amusement park in the world.

I don't want to skip it, but the trick is getting there. Disneyland is literally across the street from the convention center and there's plenty of hotels in the immediate area, so I'll likely be staying within a reasonable walking distance of Disneyland, and I can take a bus from there to Knott's. To get to Magic Mountain, I would have to rent a car for the day and pay for parking, and it's too early to tell if there will be room in the budget for that.

two post up:

You will pay out the rear for disney land. I would hit up disney land only if I had my child with me. If you rent your car from a home city location you don't pay out the rear in airport taxes.

The park will announce when season passes will go on sale-just watch out for news on the web site.

Just checked the web site and it looks like Season Passes will be going on sale Labor Day Weekend.

I already saw that Disneyland resort hotels are ridiculously expensive, so I will be staying off site. A three-day Park Hopper ticket is currently $260, which should be within my budget (though the price will likely go up between now and then).

As for renting a car, what do you mean by "home city location"?

My sister told me that she heard the passes only get you into Kings Island till Labor Day then you can't use them unless you renew then for next year other than for the haunt. Can someone please inform me on this
