August 9, 201313 yr I used to love maverick until I started getting bruises on my legs from the restraints, they are too hard. The ones on I305 are much softer. Does anyone else feel my pain
August 9, 201313 yr On the leg part? No. Overall? Yes. The shoulder restraints need to be converted to I305's.
August 9, 201313 yr Lol...I just rode Maverick for the first time yesterday. I made the mistake of moving my legs in the middle of the ride cycle and it caused the restraint to further staple my legs to the point where I couldn't move them without moderate discomfort... Between Maverick, Magnum, and Gatekeeper with the constantly tightening vest restraint, I had a slightly uncomfortable day...but the park still held up its expectations with some of the best coasters during my first visit to Cedar Point!
August 9, 201313 yr It wasn't so much the turns...I think my legs are just too long and the "lapbar" part of the restraint hits me the wrong way...
August 9, 201313 yr I've been in straight jackets (in padded rooms) that were more comfortable than Maverick's restraints! I've also ridden in Jeep Wranglers, going up the sides of rocky hills, that bounced my head around a lot less than that ride does!
August 9, 201313 yr Maverick's restraints really kill the ride for me. Call me crazy, but I don't want to have to be able to anticipate the turns and brace myself accordingly to have an enjoyable ride experience.
August 9, 201313 yr First time (only time) I rode Maverick, I was so excited that I was able to get the restraint locked easily, and then....the attendant used their foot and pushed the restraint down.....that was fun....haven't ridden it since.
August 10, 201313 yr I am sore the next day and have bruises on my arms if I put my hands up on Maverick but if I hold on i'm fine!
August 10, 201313 yr Why were you in straight jackets in padded rooms? Inquisitive Terpy Well, my jacket was not crumpled at all when I was in one of those "whopper hoppers" - but I don't think that is what you want to know. Suffice to say - Zoloft to the rescue! It's a Prozac nation, isn't it?
August 10, 201313 yr I've never really had discomfort from the restraints on Maverick, although I ended up with a bruise on my neck after the first few rides from now watching the direction of the track and having my neck hit the OTSRs. Although it did make me look like I had 2 massive hickeys! Lol
August 10, 201313 yr Guys, the only part that we feel pain on Maverick is the from the seat in the area below the scrotum.....at least for me.
August 10, 201313 yr I rode Maverick for the first time a couple days ago. I love the style seating. But at the end of the ride my ears felt like they were bleeding. But you have to admit it's a pretty sweet ride.
August 10, 201313 yr I do not find Maverick's restraints uncomfortable in the least. As for head-banging, there's a simple solution to that: lean into the turn. I lean into the turn when I ride and usually don't bang my head even once.
