We did not mention all the statistics during the announcement because statistics are not what make a roller coaster great; it's the ride experience it delivers that makes it great.

  • It's good to see me, isn't it? No need to respond! That was rhetorical. Under 30 days until Banshee makes its public debut! We can't wait for you to come out and experience this ride.

We have guests that are more excited about our live shows than our roller coasters, that visit the park specifically for the shows. For these guests, the Cirque Imagine announcement was as exciting as

Doesn't Vortex's batwing count as an immelman and a Dive loop?

It counts as a batwing. But what makes up a batwing are a reverse side-winder into a side-winder.

Banshee's "batwing" actually counts as a pretzel knot. (rcdb will back me up on that, thankfully) Which consists of a dive loop into an immelman (or the two elements of a batwing) that cross the exit and entrance paths over one another.

Small differences, but when you're someone like me, they are important to acknowledge.

For 'someone like me', it's just two inversions...

Not seeing any activity at the site today... I'm guessing too muddy.

Hey guys, I was wondering if someone would be able to post a progress picture of Banshee with a screenshot at same angle of SOB. I would love to have a reference on how it looks in size and configuration. I am sure someone on here is just that good to make this request come true. Thank you p.s. the answer YES someone could is not necessary.

Ask and you shall receive a spotty rendering of this.

You the man, Thank you

It looks like they are moving the concrete? slabs that clifford sits on. Pretty much means they are going to move him to a location where he can start working on the back half of the ride. :-)

If he sits on them, how would they move those without moving Clifford, or breaking Clifford down and moving it? He hasn't moved all day.

It is a tracked crane, it can drive around as long as the ground isn't too soft. The slabs are a large stable platform for it to sit on while lifting.

But looking at it now I'm wondering if the grey patches I thought were the slabs are just gravel. Maybe making a road to drive Clifford down into the valley?

that ground is gonna be pretty soft after yesterday lol. I'm barely over 100 pounds and can feel my feet sinking slightly into the ground :P on another odd note, I right clicked the image, said open in new tab, got a 404 error and the following url:

o.O very odd

Edit: my brother said I clicked it right when they were refreshing the camera.

looks like they poured concrete, possibly for the other side of the station. Hard to tell though. I'm not good at figuring out what they're doing most of the time but that's just what it looks like to me.

That is just gravel. If I had to guess, they are going to be moving "Clifford" here soon down into the valley, and the gravel is there to help facilitate this move and provide a solid footing for the crane during its move. Especially in light of the rain we got yesterday.

^ Oh ok. Yeah more proof I don't think sometimes :P Now that I think about it, it doesn't make any sense that they would pour concrete before moving Clifford. I was thinking Clifford was on the other side (outside) of the transfer track, but now that I think about THAT, that doesn't make any sense either.... oops....

The big guy is definitely on the move, the position change is clearly visible via the webcam.

I am presuming with how the track should run (at least in my mind) that eventually, the camera will not be focused on where they are working. Is it safe to presume, they will change the angle of the camera as construction continues?

^ The camera position can be moved. This led to much annoyance over the summer. There would be times where the camera was focused elsewhere and not on the construction site. Hopefully they will move the camera position to focus on the area they're working on.... Though once they get back to that valley if they don't zoom in on the area it WILL be hard to see progress, unless they put another camera up somewhere, perhaps on Drop Tower

We should be thankful that they even put up a webcam. To be honest I think about 10% of the GP will even look at the thing. Most parks don't have webcams redly available to the enthusiast community. I say take what you get, and don't throw a fit.

Construction of the lift hill, first drop, dive loop and the loop interacting with the lift hill have been completed on the world's longest inverted roller coaster, "Banshee."

No fits will be thrown here. It's not like I can currently tell what's going on when I look at the webcam most of the time :P

Yet another great video by CoasterBob62 was posted yesterday....This one was a video of the Banshee construction tour last Sunday with GOCC......

7:35 the first official Banshee POV! :P

But seriously great video, thanks for sharing!

Another great CoasterBob video. Too bad he didn't film me peeking under the fence. But he did get a few KICers!

Man does those low spots seem insanely low man. You can touch the track from the ground. That is crazy. Looks incredible.

That looks incredible! I love watching this ride go up!

It's like looking at a sonogram! She's a cute little thing....and she will be born around nine months from the announcement date too!!!

I kind of imagine the birth to be like this....

^ well that article ends the debate over the color of the track.... The track color is "mystic red" :)

^ oh yeah left out that key piece of information. I forgot ya gotta say an official person like Don said that or the debate will start all over again, people bashing me for calling it red :P:lol:
