We did not mention all the statistics during the announcement because statistics are not what make a roller coaster great; it's the ride experience it delivers that makes it great.

  • It's good to see me, isn't it? No need to respond! That was rhetorical. Under 30 days until Banshee makes its public debut! We can't wait for you to come out and experience this ride.

We have guests that are more excited about our live shows than our roller coasters, that visit the park specifically for the shows. For these guests, the Cirque Imagine announcement was as exciting as

I love this place.

It's possessed.

And our 2009 addition CERTAINLY has brought some steel venom.

In response to the person who wanted to know the first B&M.

As of right now, there are 90 B&M's in existence.

I have ridden 30 of the 90, and have ridden something that falls into each classification.

Here is a list of B&M styles IN ORDER of their opening.

Year - Classification - Name - Location

1990 - Stand up - Iron Wolf - SFGA

1992 - Inverted - Batman - SFGA

1993 - Sitdown - Kumba - BGT

1998 - Dive Machine - Oblivion - AT

1999 - Hyper - Apollo's Chariot - BGW

1999 - Floorless - Bizarro - SFGAdv

1999 - Hyper (200+) - Raging Bull - SFGA

2002 - Flying Coaster - Air - AT

2011 - Wing Coaster - Raptor - Gardaland

2012 - Hyper (300+) - Leviathan - CW

While Apollo's Chariot's drop is 210 feet, the lift hill is only 170 feet.

At only 144 feet tall, Hollywood Dream: The Ride at USJ is the shortest B&M Hyper.

B&M does not classify Leviathan as a giga, they still classify it a Hyper.

Suddenly, this ride runs up (somehow), screaming "NO! ONLY I AM WICKEDLY TWISTED! Banshee IS JUST REGULAR TWISTED!"

:P (Sorry, could not resist...)

I chickened out on that ride over the weekend.... It just freaked me out too much lol I'm not a fan of straight drops down. Though I did go on Maverick twice, the first time at night without knowing what it did, and I about had a heart attack lol

The first drop is really shaping up.

That is one wicked looking drop!!!! :D

To continue with the "Wicked" theme...

...because it's a great song B)

More of the drop going in. I think they will definitely be through the drop this week. They are running out of supports though, so after that, they are going to be waiting on materials.

I notice those and some tracks but I think it's for the back half of the ride (batwing, second virtcal loop, ect.). I could be wrong.

Btw responding to the page before this, I still prefer Voodoo/Posessed to Wicked Twister. That rear spike is excellent

And Banshee looks very nice, I'm really ganna miss this

Looks like the last support for the first drop is going up now.

^ Agreed I have always preferred the Rear Spike over Wicked Twistiness on both sides.

Back to the construction at hand the top of the next support for the drop is going up

They say this ride will have an elevation change of 208' , does anybody know what the elevation change is on The Beast ? Just curious

They may be done with the drop today at the rate they are going.

As to the supports out back, those have to be for later in the ride. If they were for the dive loop, they would stage them closer. There might be a few truckloads of supports sitting at CSF though, so it might not be a big deal.

Yes I would say there is a strong possibility the drop will be done today, with the pace they are moving.

Will they need clifford once the lift hill (and all that goes w/ it) is installed? If not, they could plan to get thru the supports now in place, then finish up the steps on the lift and finish that out this week. Take down clifford and get it out of the area, restage lift and track on site, or bring it in from CSF if it lies there, then start on the dive loop and the loop around the lift hill next week.

I checked the web cam today and was very pleasantly surprised to see major progress. I hadn't looked since the hill was topped off.

They will need to keep either clifford or that yellow crane on site pretty much the whole way. With clifford's having farther reach and the back half of the ride going down hill, I'd say we will see it there all the way to the end.

^ maybe the vertical loop possibly zero g roll!

It's crazy the amount of progress they've made so far today. Can't wait to see it in person this Friday!

If you can, post some pictures! The skyline must look pretty with the lift hill and drop mostly complete.
