August 6, 201313 yr In my day, it didn't matter who the manufacturer was, whether it was made of wood or steel, went 500 feet up or stayed low to the ground. We just wanted to have a day of fun and share some laughs with family and friends. Because that's the way it was, and we liked it like that! U mad bro? (Wow I've gotta stop saying that.) Great post by the way...
August 11, 201313 yr For myself I have been on 8 Intamin coasters and 10 B&M coasters. My favorite Intamin coasters I have been on are Top Thrill Dragster, Wicked Twister, Volcano, Millennium Force, & Xcelerator. My favorite B&M coaster I have been on are Diamondback, Raptor, Silver Bullet, Tatsu & Scream. To me I enjoy B&M rides more, but does not mean I don't like Intamin coaster because there are some really good one there that are fun.

Wait, are you directing that toward me or Don?
September 25, 201312 yr I've never actually ridden an Intamin, but the b and ms I've been on we're pretty good (Intimidator, Afterburn, Vortex) although Vortex isn't the most comfortable, but of course it has been around for about twenty years and it is a stand up coaster. Intimidator is very fun, it has nice airtime, and even styles your hair for you! Afterburn is very fun, it's action-packed, and goes upside down 6 times. After all, b and m has invented the invert, floorless, dive, and wing coasters. These coasters beg to differ...
September 25, 201312 yr B&M might not have invented the wing coaster, but they certainly did popularize it, and that's gotta count for something.
September 26, 201312 yr It was that bad? I still cringe the fact that I have rode the dragster only 3 times after 9 trips to Cedar Point this season.
September 26, 201312 yr Yes, it was THAT bad. (Really? I've ridden Dragster 5 times in 2 trips this summer. At what times did you go?)
September 26, 201312 yr Where are you riding GK? I notice it only in the back outside seats, front seats are still smooth as glass from riding last week
September 26, 201312 yr Over the 3 times I've ridden it I think I've been riding in the middle to back. If I had to guess, twice in row 5, and once in row 6. Even though I haven't been riding near the front, I still think it shouldn't be that rough in ANY seat.
September 26, 201312 yr Oh totally agree, it was butter smooth when it opened. I think the issue comes down to wheels, somewhat similar to DB...Only way to tell is next season though, I mean that ride has gone through it's paces this season for sure. If it stays that way, sad day
September 26, 201312 yr How can anyone complain about a little shuffling on a steel coaster? Especially a B&M coaster for crying out loud.. Take a ride on The Racer that has real shuffling.
September 26, 201312 yr Nitro does not shuffle or rattle. It's a B&M, last I checked. See also Great Advencha's Bizarro, Batman...no shuffling, no rattling, ride like the day they opened. And I should know, since I was there for Medusa's and Nitro's openings (and Kinda Ka's and El Toro's, for that matter)
September 27, 201312 yr Gatekeeper's shuffling (in its bad seats) are definitely something to be concerned about. Getting your brain mashed like that certainly doesn't promote "the Best Day Ever" experience.

September 27, 201312 yr ^I guess. Why else would it be that these newer B&M's like DB and GK are shuffling so much already while others like Nitro and Bizarro have been running smooth for 10-15 years?
September 27, 201312 yr I seriously would not allow gatesleeper & diamondstack to run with them shaking so bad. SOB was smooth as glass compared to the shuffling on Diamondback.
September 27, 201312 yr Ok well... I wouldn't go THAT far in describing Diamondback's shuffling, but I do think it is something that should be taken care of. Especially around the trim brake area. Bleh. Horrid jackhammering if you're sitting near the back. While as for Gatekeeper... YES, THE SHUFFLING IS BAD!
September 27, 201312 yr The only problem I had with Sob was the premier trains and being stapled.the restraint/ankle restraints took up over half of the possible space in the car.
September 27, 201312 yr I am no engineer but if you build a forceless ride why would there be jackhammering?
September 27, 201312 yr Based on Millennium Force, I'd say there wouldn't be any...then I consider Mean Streak....
September 27, 201312 yr Probably needs new wheels or a small correction....Think media day/opening month...butter smooth...just has progressively gotten worse. Looking at the wheels compared to opening day too btw, I mean they really do look worn, They were flat wheels when I rode them and my second trip not too much, but now the wheels have a groove as deep as the ones on TTD's trains
September 27, 201312 yr Such a relatively small expense, but apparently not a major priority at one of the largest seasonal park operators in the nation.
