The end of Snapping?

Featured Replies

I have heard from a friend that 04 there will be no snapping on the Flyers. And anyone will do will be ejected from the park under destruction of property. Anyone else heard this?

i have not heard this... and i sure hope that it is just another nasty rumor! i like to think i'm pretty good with the flyers, and snapping really adds to the experience! i would hate to not be able to snap anymore! :(

I have never heard of any accidents where cables have snapped on rides like the flyers, however i can see wehre the danger is, and how extensive damage could occur to the cables so i could see this happening. It has never seemd to be a problem before... i guess we'll just have to wait till 04 to find out! i'm sure they would have a big sign warning us.... :cowboy:

As you may recall from the Boomerang Bay tour, Jeff Seibert mentioned that he likes to make the Flyers snap (I have all this stuff on tape :D ) I sincerely doubt he would promote something that's a menace to the park.

This rumor comes up every year, and every year it is not true. The reason why the park will still let guests snap the flyers is because they were designed that way. No damage is done when a guest snaps one of the flyers. The rule that does not allow guests to snap flyers goes on in other parks because they have flyers that are not designed to have the cables snap like PKI's. Of coarse, the park could implement a ban on snapping flyers and be pricks, but they are not like that. So ultimately, this rumor has no truth to it.

I remember this comming up last year and in 01 lol. The Flyers are designed to handle snapping, that's why the have so much slack to take the force.

I don't really think its true either "or thats what I keep telling myself." I just posted it for educational reasons and to see if anyone else heard it.

phew... as i wipe the sweat off my forehead.... i would sure hate to see snapping go! :cowboy:

I know I'm probably one of the only people here that doesn't know this, but could someone please explain how you snap on the flyers. I've never been able to figure it out.

you make them snap...umm... the cord gets loose then your make the cable straight all of a sudden and the cable pops up again. or atleast thats is what i think is snapping

it is hard to explain. :D :bike:
