October 17, 201213 yr I think my favorites would be: Top Gun's brake as it goes back into the train. Invertigo's cable lift. Drop Tower's "Click" and drop sound. And who can forget, the annoying sound of Firehawk's chain as you're laying on your back getting burnt to death!
October 17, 201213 yr Author The idling of the "engine" (not sure what to call it) following the click that marks the stop of the gondola. Awesome
October 17, 201213 yr The chain of The Beast as I go up the hill. Carousel. Husband really liked hearing Sinatra and Darin on International Street. People screaming all at once.
October 18, 201213 yr Oh how could I forget, The distant sound of Drop Tower from the far side of the parking lot.
June 22, 20215 yr With all of the things that have been added to (Or removed from!) the park since 2012, I thought this could be a fun thread to revive. Some of my favorite sounds are: * BLSC’s flame effect * WERD Radio * Banshee’s scream * Diamondback’s first drop
June 23, 20215 yr The dispatch bells on all the wood coasters. I really miss those. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
June 24, 20215 yr I miss the sound of the station announcements/Indiana Jones theme in the cue for AE.
June 26, 20215 yr I'm not sure this is something I miss, but could always be heard halfway across the park. Son of Beasts anti rollbacks.

June 27, 20215 yr The wooshing sounds in the AE tunnels, and the groaning creaking sounds that play on the AE lift hill. Not the Arrow sounds of the coaster, but the recorded creakiing/groaning sounds.

June 27, 20215 yr Wait for it…. The clunking of ice into your cup followed by the whoosh of soda filling your cup from a Freestyle.
June 15, 20251 yr The sounds of the Cincadas plotting their schemes... just kidding my favorite sounds are the lift hills of Mystic Timbers and The Beast.

One sounded like a car alarm, for when someone won a prize "boow, boow, boow, boow, boow, boow..." The other was a random, electronic noise from the "Strength Hammer" game (the one with the super-bright flashing lights), which sounded like the background sound on the classic "Galaxian" game. I remember those! Anyways, how has NO ONE mentioned Jim Cummings on FoF yet??? His voice is just so UGH...

I actually do miss SoB as both riding it and the incredibly loud and prominent presence it had. Of course, I was much younger during my time riding SoB and my body could take the violence better. I think if I were to hop in a time machine and ride it now, I would be singing a different tune. But I'd like to think that had the ride actually successfully survived itself, there would have been some extensive work done on it over the years if not a complete RMC refab. Other sounds I enjoy: -The Monster's many hydraulic motors humming in sync with one another once they all fire up ( miss this sound but I am happy they are working to get it back up and running this year! ) -The lift motor inside The Bat's station. It's a lot more quiet since they've drastically slowed down the lift. But I remember it being louder during it's time as Top Gun/Flight deck. I also know the main bull gear is different than the one it had previously. It has spokes now whereas the old one was solid. -Vortex-miss everything about it, but to stay on topic, I miss all the different sounds it produced. The continuous sounds of the lift hill, the much loved Arrow anti-rollbacks noise, the sound of the brake fins slowing down the train the way an Arrow can only produce, the rattle of the structure while sitting almost under it having a slice of LaRosa's -Firehawk-the incredibly loud lift and anti-rollbacks, the whooshing it made while gliding through the layout -Drop Tower's lift motor hum and the loud clank when the catch car releases the gondola -Delirium's monstrously loud swing arm coupled with the slight high-frequency whining noise -Sol Spin's "turkey gobble" brakes I'm sure I can think of more. These just came to the top of my mind. Oh-honorable mention: The old IS fountains. Not only did they look more grand, they also were much more commanding simply by the amount of water you could hear being pushed through the pedestals. If you closed your eyes when you walked by on a quiet morning or evening at the park, it almost sounded like a small waterfall. Not to mention the breeze carried that larger amount of water better and would cool you off on a hot day as you walked by.
July 2, 20251 yr The Maestro saying "You'll be back... you'll be BAAAACKK!" while exiting Phantom Theater.
