What year were these fireworks?

I have seen alot of pictures of these fireworks at Kings Island and I was wondering What year the fireworks in this picture were from? I go to Kings Island Over 25 times a year but I only went on the 4th of July once. It was very overcrowded and I wont go back on the 4th.

Those were taken during Nights of Fire, and many of those days of Nights of Fire were worse than the 4th of July (park reached capacity many times). I think those were taken around 2004, when the park (last I know of) shot fireworks off the Eiffel Tower for the last time. The park still uses that image for promotional reasons, making the average park guest think they are truly spectacular.

And the park no longer does that due to, among other things, safety issues. Some guests had falling embers rain down upon them. Thus ended the Eiffel Tower fireworks.

Son of Beast was operating then, too. it was a dangerous time to be at Kings Island.

Couldn't they have blocked off the paths?

Great show way back in 2004; and if you blinked, you missed that signature effect (as did I almost).

What was this so called "signature effect"?

Wait, those were real fireworks used at the park? I always thought that picture was just enhanced to make it look as spectacular as possible.

So were the Nights of Fire just special fireworks, or was it more?

Nights of fire was the show to see around the tri-state. Not so much now. Blue ash is the show to see nowadays.
