Cedar Point to remove Disaster Transport & Space Spiral for B&M Wing

Featured Replies

Last night was probly the best night so far. I've never seen the park so dead (pun intended). Every coaster was a a walk on the entire night except for Dragster which was only a couple feet out of the station and Millennium which was at the end of the unload station. I walked right onto Maverick before closing. I rode Skyhawk and maXair several times without getting off. The haunt attractions were about 15 minutes all night.

The weather was perfect too. No wind at all so the fog stayed in its location all night and it was perfect hoodie and jeans weather without feeling too warm or cold.

  • Nice picture online today of Gatekeeper.

  • No. This is a parking lot coaster. Gatekeeper is not even comparable to bland, un-original coasters, like this.

I'm glad I was able to get some closure with DT. When hearing it was being replaced I was upset because I wasn't going to get to go until September, and it turned out that would be after it's final d

That area of the park looks great. I was there last night and its amazing how different it was. I never realized how much space Disaster Transport took up. It looks much better without Space Spiral too.

Speak for yourself! Some of us see an awkward hole in the skyline.

I walked right onto Maverick before closing.

How is Maverick with the pirates underneath it?

In other news Troika has been freed and is now operational.

Pretty cool. You actually can't see the path most of the ride. The fog pretty much covers the whole ride too.

Forgive my ignorance, but under what portions of Maverick does the pirate trail pass? I can't think of anywhere that isn't barricaded by water, walls, or low clearance.

Is it a scare zone or an open-air Haunt?

Yes!

(at CP any outdoor zone is called a scare zone)

The trail zig zags around the obstacles, starting from near the RR station curving all the way to Thunder Canyon. It is quite long and well done considering the location.

I was at da point a couple of days ago. The footings have been poured, but thats really all I saw. And 2 cranes.

I really hope the new entrance means that their pass processing building will get an update. The season pass photos from there are truly awful.

Those pics from the Register - the one of the wheels - is this gonna have an elevator lift or a chain?

Those pics from the Register - the one of the wheels - is this gonna have an elevator lift or a chain?

Most likely, yes.

From the animation, and the fact that it is designed by B&M, it will have a chain lift.

I think those wheels you see are for the storage track.

Gatekeeper will have a chain lift. The wheels are for the storage track, they are similar to most B&M storage track.

It will get an update and a major expansion.

I assumed season pass area to be updated, you know for a certainty?

I've heard it reported a few times from people involved with the park over on PointBuzz.
