Delirium Acting strangely?

Featured Replies

I was at the park on Wednesday of this week, and I noticed something off about Delirium. I noticed that at the apex of its swing, at the point where it changed direction, it seemed almost like the ride was "skipping" if that makes any sense. Like, instead of changing direction smoothly, it seemed to jump a few times. And I don't know if it's related or not, but for the first time ever, I left the ride with a headache after that cycle. Has anyone else noticed this phenomenon, or am I just crazy?

You know your zero to SoB comment was mildly amusing the first twenty or so times, but has run its course in my opinion. It is especially annoying now when you are the one bringing up SoB and then usi

It's been discussed on here quite a bit that people feel a tug in Delirium when it changes direction. Some people say it's been that way from the beginning, others say it's new. Like most new HUSS rides and all Giant HUSS rides, it's a fickle contraption.

I vote for the claim that it's new. I've ridden hundreds of times, and I can honestly say that was the first and only time I've felt that. THe ride was only about half filled at the time. Maybe it has something to do with weight distribution?

I know I felt it last season, and last season is when the initial discussions about it took place, so I can at least promise you that it's not newer than 2011, at least.

^ That's what I was going to say. Sounds like the transmission is just getting old. Hopefully it lasts all year.

I think the best option for KI at this point would be to go ahead and order the necessary parts. That way they'll have them on hand (or at least on the way) when the parts do eventually go out.

The mechanical jerk is new. What's always been there is the airtime when the ride reverses direction and "catches" you out of what was to be your inertial trajectory, I think (I slept through physics).

It did that before the last time right before the Motor went out. Rememeber when it down for several months? Lets hope that doesn't happen again. They just replaced a major part on MaXair last year for the same reason.

"Pardon our dust while we await a part from Germany!"

How many seasons did we see that sign in front of the ride for at least a month?

I've felt that mechanical jerk several times over the years while riding Delirium; it's not new. I've also been on it while it was in the process of breaking down, so to speak, the controlled swing giving way to a free swing while letting out a quite audible groan.

Maybe KI and Huss Should use UPS Same day?!

Cobra, heading for the door...

You can't same day a part from another country unless you deliver it yourself.

I believe he was joking

The tugging has NOT been there from the very beginning. It seems to come and go on Delerium, never noticed it on MaXair. Last year when the ride was broken down for a good 3 weeks, the tug was gone after it was re-opened. Assuming the tug is related to why the ride has so much downtime, it makes you wonder why they don't just replace the often defective part during the offseason so the ride doesn't have to sit there closed for a good chunk of the summer.

The ride swings? I never knew that. Lol. Joking.

Delirium doesn't have a transmission.

Whatever. Go catch a predator.

I saw that too. I don't know why it hasn't been runnin, as I've seen it do numerous test cycles.
