Discounts for the Tall People

Featured Replies

Ok listen up:

PKI gives discounts to both children under 48 inches and to those Sr. Citizens over 60 because they are unable to enjoy all of the attractions.

Well the question is then:

WHY DONT THEY GIVE DISCOUNTS TO TALLER PEOPLE

There are several attractions that taller people like myself cannot ride. We deserve a discount and the park needs to take action.

I know the park doesnt design their rides (well for the most part). And the only reason that taller folks cannot fit on the rides is becasue of the idiots who design the rides not designing the big enough, but the Park definitly could give a discount to the bigger guests.

Funny side note: I am member 520 and this is my 520th post!!

I agree with you, Stephen. I always thought about discounts for those people who are extremely overweight. I'm not equating fat with tall, but big people usually can't ride either.

I felt sorry for a woman yesterday, she had to be over 300 pounds, and confined to a wheelchair. I'd hate to think that she spent over $40 to get in.

By the way, Stephen....

I have a friend who is 6'8". He is in a club called the "64 club" or something (a club for taller people)...he was approached by a member at a mall. have you ever been approached, or heard of a club like this?

Hmmm... I really don't know what to say to that one. I am barely tall enough to ride my rides alone. I think (and I'm not saying this because I'm short) that some short people might take offense to a discount for tall people, because of the way they naturally are.

If PKI would do this, how many this and that groups will come out of the woodworks not wanting to pay full price to get in? Don't know if you read this or not, but Cedar Point dropped their senior discounts. Others may follow.

you cant just give people money to visit the park because they are taller. it is discrimination against smaller people. and you really can't put a limit on a "large guest discount" because some people can and cant fit on certain rides and may be the same height because of the difference in body proportions

good idea, but really no way to enforce this fairly

Actually I was talking about the rides that PKI has now that have ride restrictions on height, Drop Zone, Skyflyer, Delirium to name some that the park has now. Not just rides that people dont fit on. If you are over a certain height then you are not allowed to ride these rides and it just isnt quite fair

Steve

I like the idea, but you somehow would have to differentiate the people because tall people could buy a bunch of tickets and give them to their friends and the friends would go on the rides that are restricted. Maybe plastic bracelets?

1. Drop Zone and Delirium are the only rides with a max height not in HB. That's 2 rides. If you're under 54", you can't ride Face/Off, Delirium, TR:TR, FOF, and probably a couple other rides I can't think of right now. That's at least 4. They get no discount.

2. I think that once you're over a certain age you're not eligible for the kiddie discount - no matter how short/tall you are. Could be wrong though.

3. I understand your logic definately, but this would open up a political can of worms which I doubt the park would want to be involved with. (IE - should they give a discount to people too fat to ride some rides, or who have a disability that prevents them from riding some rides?)

We have height resctrictions, but still... some taller people can't ride the rides that don't have them.

I'm not going to argue this... you pay to get in or you don't get in. You know what's there before you go, you don't have to go.

^ Good point.

If you give discounts to tall people then they have to give them to fat, short, unevenly proportioned, disabled, and injured people.

Also, it would start a political spur, although, I bet a lot of tall people would all the sudden come to the park.

AND, PKI prices are already cheap! There only $32.99 online! Thats cheaper than anyother park that I know of!

He's got a point too. If they do give out discounts to only tall people (like myself) then the fat people get jealous and they sue, then they win and they get a discount and anger the anorexic and the chain follows etc... But if they did give out discounts to tall people I actually might get to go to PKI on a regular day and not Bring a Friend Free Day.

Ahh what the heck...the park should just be free for every one!!!

Actually I think the stupid ride engineers should make the rides so that everyone can fit on the ride.....Or atleast people 7'1" and under... wink.gif

I know PKI will never do this, but for some reason I was ****ed about this topic this morning and I just wanted to see what you all thought...

Peace Out

Tiny

Thanks for the Happy Bday Shout out Beastdude

I dont see why on all the rides that would be hard for a tall person to get on they dont just make like 1 row or two seats that are adjustable hightwise the way that king cobra did and such.

Does Runaway Reptar have a maximum height restriction as well? I think it does but can`t seem to remember for sure, its been a long day.

^^^I'm about 90% sure it does. I think I remember seeing 2 signs at the ride entrance... one for min and on for max height, kinda like DZ.

^^ Yup it does....I think its 54 inches. Not sure tho. If your taller then you must be accompanied by a child.

Yes, Rugrats Runaway Reptar does have a maximum height restriction. Even though I was not too tall according to the restriction, my feet touched the metal below me on the lift hill. This was not cool. According to the PKI web site, to ride Reptar you must be at least 44" (approx. 3'6") and less than 76" (approx. 6'3").

I love being 5'4 I can ride just about anything I want well maybe not the kiddie rides. But my muscler build does cause me problems on SoB and The Racer.
