Soak City Kings Island 2012

Featured Replies

I thought I should start a new topic about Soak City so that we could post construction updates, pictures,

and anything else about the new for 2012 Soak City at Kings Island. As of right now according to KI's facebook

page, construction (demolition) has already began.

yah they do need some way to make walking barefoot comfortable and not pain full or at least put shoe cubbies so your shoes are less likely to be stolen like mine were

It's more of the hot concrete and crappy rubber stuff on the steps that keeps me away from the waterpark. Great wolf and other indoor waterparks is where ill be

Be glad that blacktop isn't used in the water park. Or at least be glad that any new blacktop being incorporated into Soak City will stay in the new parking lot being constructed...

My feet have low sensitivity to heat so that's never been a problem for me! I'm looking forward to seeing if the slides will get a paint job like Soak City at Cedar Point.

I really hope they could make it less walking in your bear feat somehow. They areally need to do something innovative.

You're welcome.

^funny part, you cannot go down slides with flip-flops on.

therefore if you wore them, you'd have to remove them at the slide's entrance. 16gwoods suggested that they add a more safe way to store shoes at a slide's entrance, or make it easier to walk barefooted.

^ That's what you get for bringing your bear to KI! How'd you manage sneaking that in, anyway?!

Well somebody left their bear near the train tracks near Soak City. I saw it a couple weeks ago standing on it's hind legs holding a pumpkin.

I bought a pair of water shoes specifically for KI...went to BB once last year, and my feet hurt for a week afterwards. That concrete just carves your skin up.

My skeletoes work pretty good in the waterpark :) If you don't mind looking like a dork with individual toed shoes.

A small, separate tube that runs next to the slide that your shoes go down. Sounds really stupid, but would work and look awesome.

Did theyy let you go down the slide with them on?

Yep they sure do. At least they have the last two years. Of course the policy for them could change anytime the felt like it (especially if an incident with them were to occur). Most of the lifeguards actually wear the same kind of shoe, just a different brand.

where is the much needed webcam?

I agree that they should add a webcam so that we can keep track of progress when ever we want.

There was a WindSeeker cam at Cedar Point and Kings Island still has one.

I think it would be hard to see if the webcam was on the Eiffel Tower. Also there not much space inside Soak City that would show the work.

Kind of like the bank drive up shoot, but maybe a little bigger?

Lots and lots of sand could fix the bare feet problem. :)

Totally agreed. When I'm at the Beach Waterpark walking down a path with sand next to it, I automatically move over onto the sand because it's far more comfortable for my bare feet. I would spend a lot more time in Soak City if I had sand to walk on instead of hard concrete.

A webcam to watch them pour a big slab of concrete? Gee that that should be fun to watch. Can't wait until they go vertical with the walls!

In the newer section of HW they have this pavement that... I'm not sure what it is, but it's really comfortable on my feet.

And will all the attractions be renamed for 2012 ?? It also would have been nice to have a lazy river just to float on heck even a indoor one with smurfs ha ha Wishful thinking:

Probably, but knowing Kings Island's procrastination, we might know nothing until late winter.
