Bright White Coaster Track Spotted

Featured Replies

I stopped at a rest area in I-75 North today, just north of Lima, Ohio, and there was a flat bed carrying bright white coaster track stopped there. Interesting.

I know the answer is probably going to be no, but could you identify the manufacturer?

Yes, I went to a football scrimmage there and my one of my friends said he saw a roller coaster track piece too. Sadly, I did not see a thing though.

I don't know where Intamin track for U.S. is manufactured but it is worth nothing that Skyrush at Hershey has bright white track.

Skyrush has bright yellow track

Doesn't B&M have a manufacturing plant in Ohio? I'm wondering if it could be someone else's track on route. Don't mean to spoil the party.

The truck was already north of Kings Island, and was stopped at a 75N rest stop... wouldn't it be heading away from our park?

The B&M manufacturing plant is in Batavia. They make track there that goes all over the world. I saw track there one time that was destined for China, as well as track for Sheikra, Silver Bullet and Patriot. The Sheikra track was incredibly massive.

Well if it was north of Lima on I-75 chances are the trucks were heading to the turnpike. From there it could have been going to Chicago for X-Flight, but the video shows red track on that one. It could be heading just about anywhere from here though.

Ah, yes! That's what surprised me so much about seeing SheiKra and Griffon in person. In photographs, they truly don't look all that big, but it's a case of perception issues - the track for those extra-wide trains is at least two times wider and thicker than standard B&M track, so with that scale in mind you can imagine how tall they truly are despite appearances in photos.
