What`s next for Son of Beast?

Sob over S.O.B.?

How can one not? 2000 brought Ohio coaster lovers an M.F. and an S.O.B. At least one park chain was to find out at least one ride was aptly named. Perhaps too aptly.

I just wanted to add some of my own sarcasm and absurdity to this thread. I feel better now...

I hope to ride it again as well. If not, I'd like to see another record breaker of some kind (and not one that gets owned by another coaster in the same year (DB vs. 305)) ... Ok. As promised. Last

    Wow man, your quite annoying.

Is this thread the longest thread on KIC?

The longest thread that I could find is "Guests say the darnest things"

If you head over to themeparkreview and look at thier iiaapa coverage apperntly the company that does the iron horse treatment is going to be very busy in 2012.

Watch the very beginning.

Something somewhere is getting retracked for 2013...

Jumping to conclusions can be somewhat like jumping off a bridge before you look over the edge...

I don't know the gentleman but am impressed with his confidence. He seems like that type that would pursue a high risk venture as he seems to have a lot of confidence and pride in his product.

I didn't really hear him say anything that could pertain to Son of Beast. How many wood coasters are there in the US alone that could be eligible for this treatment? It's like being at a basketball game, and the lucky halftime winner is in section 132, and you think "Hey, I'm in section 132!.....along with a couple hundred others...." It'll be very interesting to see where they go with this and what they do with it, but I wouldn't hold my breath that it's for Son of Beast.

I never thought it was something to cry on while riding. I always got off with a smile. I guess people are just too soft these days!

I honestly have no idea if this video proves anything. But I think everything adds up, and points to us. Then again I could be wrong.

Notes:

- We're due for a coaster in 2013.

- KI hasn't mentioned SOB in a while...

- He mentions they will be working on a project to improve a coaster with the iron horse track.

- I'm Awesome

- Need to get milk after work

Needing to get milk after work is a dead giveaway...SOB is being retracked for 2013!!! Yay!!!

Didn't it take 2 full seasons of work to transform Texas Giant?

So basically, if

- We don't get any announcement of some sort

- We don't see any work this upcoming 2012 season

It's not happening. Although I would love if it did!

The Texas Giant closed at the end of the 2009 season. It reopened as the New Texas Giant to the public April 22, 2011. It missed only the 2010 season.

Thanks for the clarification. That's what I was trying to say, in so many words. If this were to happen in 2013, we would see the work happening next year, correct?

It could be going on right now for all we know. Remember opening day 2008? Diamondback had it's footprint halfway done.

Just like.... Diamondback? No way.

HTCO, just speculatin'

*cough*Mean Streak*cough

Sorry, but I'm seeing the Point's big woodie getting the nod over Sonny, and that's IF a Cedar Fair coaster is getting the Iron Horse treatment.

Not saying it wouldn't happen, but Mean Streak also closed early last year for "retracking work"... which was just, in fact, retracking work.

And before someone tries to mention something about a fire, all that did was hasten its already early closing that year.

Well Knott's has been clearing out alot of room around GhostRider, but I could also see the Voyage. The Voyage would not be that hard to change its all most steal already.

My money would be on Rattler at Six Flags Fiesta Texas.

I'm sure everyone at CP would want to loose one of 2 wooden coasters. Especially after getting rave reviews for the work done to it this year. Thanks for the link PT. I'm looking forward to more new wood next year.

Texas Giant was a prototype and cannot be too accurately used as a reference for time.

ps I get no inside information but am amazed at how easily I can read into posts on various sites (as long as you know who to listen to) and how much a select few know and craftily post. However, until recently, there has been no such insight on SOB which leads me to think that no one really knew what was going on with SOB until recently (this season). Something tells me an answer has been made. I have a guess what it is but, eh...

^ I think Rattler already got its topper track this year, unless you mean it's getting more?

Does it mean anything that after the interview in the video, the guy goes to the Dippin' Dots stand? ^_^
