March 12, 201412 yr Wondering if they are going to have some sort of covering like they used to in the middle or if they are just gonna leave white bars exposed.
March 12, 201412 yr It looks like the cars for the Roller Skater coaster have been placed back on the track..... Photo : Kentucky Kingdom via Facebook
March 12, 201412 yr Love the look of Himalaya now! Fond memories! Hope to ride it again, soon enough!
March 14, 201412 yr I'm not sure I believe everyone plans things that far out. I think that comes with time, maturity & age. I plan most of my stuff anywhere between 5-9 months in advance.
March 14, 201412 yr I'm talking about parks (not including KI, it helps I work close by I can go whenever when it is open)

March 19, 201412 yr Overbank is completed! http://themeparkreview.com/forum/files/1921032_753923404626754_1426504644_o.jpg Could only post the link as Photobucket is blocked for me right now.
March 19, 201412 yr Coaster is looking great, still can't believe how little attention this has gained. Could be a great little coaster model for parks to add that doesn't cost an arm and leg and that bridges the gap between kiddie coasters and high thrill coasters. What I would refer to as a Family/Junior Thrill Ride
March 19, 201412 yr It boggles the mind that they are not heavily advertising this. It just doesn't make any sense. None the less, I will be visiting this year to ride it.
March 19, 201412 yr While discussing Senior Trip plans with Diamondbacker, I asked him which coaster he is more excited for- Thunder Run or Lightning Run? He chose Thunder Run. I think I'm equally excited for both.

Could be a great little coaster model for parks to add that doesn't cost an arm and leg and that bridges the gap between kiddie coasters and high thrill coasters. What I would refer to as a Family/Junior Thrill Ride Are prototypes usually cheaper? I have no knowledge in this area, but I would guess that prototypes are usually more expensive than future clones, because of all of the design work that goes into making the prototype and because you're making the pieces for the first time. With clones, the design is already done, and the machine data already exists to produce the pieces, so there would be less work and therefore less cost involved. Again, this is just a guess; I'd be interested to hear from someone with actual knowledge on this subject.
March 19, 201412 yr ^ On the other hand, a clone of a successful design is very likely to operate reliably and on time. A prototype can involve more risk.
March 20, 201412 yr Author I was thinking that the manufacturer was also paying a portion for the ride, not the buyer alone
March 20, 201412 yr New Coaster is looking good. Pleased that there are going to be two new Coasters in the region to ride.

What I would refer to as a Family/Junior Thrill Ride Are prototypes usually cheaper? I wouldn't call Lightning Run a prototype. Think of a prototype as something that breaks new ground. Cable lift, Inverted, Hydraulic Launch, Wing, 4th Dimension. These new rides typically have some never before used technology, track design, or train design. Nothing about this ride screams prototype to me, more of a new model. Chance/Morgan has done Hyper Coasters and Family Coasters. This fits somewhere in the middle. The lower cost is due to small footprint, less steel and things along those lines. After all this is not a very large coaster so the cost isn't going to be huge. Think roughly the length of The Bat at KI with about the same ride time.
March 20, 201412 yr I love the blue they are using on Lightning Run. I agree, very nice color choice!
March 20, 201412 yr From KK Facebook Page, https://www.facebook.com/kentuckykingdom Here's a quick snapshot of the construction for the Rock-A-Bye Swings!

March 21, 201412 yr "Are prototypes usually cheaper?" I always heard Hellivator was. Sorry... had to...
March 26, 201412 yr Author When I was on spring break last week, Ads where everywhere throughout the Louisville area. From transit buses to billboards. I am also hearing that TV advertisements are officially on the air. side note...From a picture I have seen, Lightning Run's main course is completed.
March 26, 201412 yr Kentucky Kingdom on Facebook : "With the arrival of Spring, we thought it was only fitting that we show off the progress that's been made on the Pounce and Bounce!" Photo : Kentucky Kingdom via Facebook ....On a side note..... I honestly have to say that the name of the ride pictured above, Pounce and Bounce, is probably one of the worst names I have heard for a children's ride in a long time. It sounds more like the name of something a toddler would use to play in before learning to walk.
March 26, 201412 yr Well, I am no longer allowed to speak of happenings in the park but I can say Lightning Run looks bigger than I expected. Saw it up close and personal for the first time during orientation. Don't know why it isn't being promoted more but I guess time will tell.
March 26, 201412 yr I thought Pounce and Bounce was a Six Flags name..... ( I tought I taw a pooty tat!)
