June 9, 201511 yr Well, I finally saw a Kentucky Kingdom TV Ad today here in Central Indiana (first ever for me since Six Flags era when they aired all the time). Ironically it was right after a Holiday World ad, which I have seen hundreds of this year alone. And they were pushing the $30 2-day tickets. At least they are finally showing ads on TV and outside Facebook and stuff.
June 9, 201511 yr I hope twisted twins gets the RMC iron horse treatment for next year, it will be the first RMC within a 3 hour drive!
June 9, 201511 yr http://www.courier-journal.com/story/entertainment/people/buzz/2015/06/08/top-ten-amusement-parks-kentucky-kingdom/28676265/this is Ed Hart approved! ...and posted and discussed above! Ed should pay you for posting it again.
June 9, 201511 yr I wonder if Mr. Hart would approve a Kentucky Kingdom Central? The first forum could be the installation of the Trailer Tower and the continued monitoring of T3 progress...
June 9, 201511 yr I wonder if mr hart would approve of this? Kentucky Kingdom was a fun little park and Lightning Run is a blast. I went in thinking this place was trash thanks to non stop naysayers and ended up enjoying it. Everyone was friendly and the rides were fun. I look forward to going back and taking my family.

Indeed, that's more or less the experience I got when I visited last season: friendly employees and fun rides. However, the park's issues are with upper management and the "big picture", not so much with the little things like that.
June 9, 201511 yr Just curious, but is there a reason for the road that cuts the park in half? Seems to me that when you enter the west gate you could technically go straight after paying the parking fee and still get to the parking area rather than driving through the park. There is a lot of space that is being taken up by the four lane entryway.
June 9, 201511 yr The reason? The State Fair. The primary purpose of the lands is The State Fair and Exposition Center. The road is not leased to the park, nor is it likely to be.

June 10, 201511 yr The Reason? The Fairgrounds existed long before Kentucky Kingdom. The park was originally built as an extension of the KY State Fair and it failed very quickly. Basically they just stuck it where they had room. Mr. Hart brought the park back from the dead and used what area he could get to expand the park.
June 10, 201511 yr I think it's funny because I'm seeing advertisements for KK on websites, and they're advertising it as a tourist spot for Indy. I know it's close to Indy, but it's definitely a Kentucky park.
June 10, 201511 yr I keep seeing IndyStar ads for Kentucky Kingdom.. In Michigan. It's as if Mr. Hart were mocking me, which is just as well. Suppose I just won't make it out there any time soon.
June 10, 201511 yr There are excellent coasters, rides and employees at Kentucky Kingdom. I urge those considering a trip there to do so...this year.
June 10, 201511 yr Indeed, that is a concern. So is a six hour, ~400 mile one-way trip on a nonexistent budget. *sigh*
June 10, 201511 yr Going to the list thing from before... if you are part of a 15 park article or a 10 or a 20, then you run with it saying you are in the top 10/15/20 or so parks in the country.... its not a lie....
June 10, 201511 yr Just curious, but is there a reason for the road that cuts the park in half? Seems to me that when you enter the west gate you could technically go straight after paying the parking fee and still get to the parking area rather than driving through the park. There is a lot of space that is being taken up by the four lane entryway. It's not that uncommon for amusement parks and similar facilities to be divided by a roadway. See also The Columbus Zoo. And Holiday World and Kennywood, but those have parking lots that require you to pass through a tunnel under a road. The parks themselves are not divided by a road.
June 10, 201511 yr Oh, is T3 open yet? Or any new news that I've missed? I haven't been on the forum for a few days Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
June 10, 201511 yr http://www.indystar.com/story/sponsor-story/kentucky-kingdom/2015/06/10/kentuckykingdom/28736773/ Kentucky Kingdom: a great, big fun loving kid. Seems that Kentucky kingdom is a sponsor of Indy Star as it lists it before the article. Smart marketing move by Kentucky Kingdom.
June 10, 201511 yr Under "Tips for Park-goers With Little Riders:" • Three is free. Park admission is a real deal to begin with. Plus, children under age three get in free. Then three is not free. Right? It's not "three and under." It's "under three." Cute rhyme, but incorrect. Which I could understand if it was a legitimate news piece, but... it's not... it's direct from the park.
June 10, 201511 yr Update from the kroger I work KK tickets are now being sold for 35$(and they have a fairly visible presence in the checkouts and a sign that mentions 4 coasters) which doesnt seem bad until you realize that the KI tickets they sell are only 38$
June 10, 201511 yr Pricing integrity being thrown to the wind typically means attendance goals are not being met. In what state is this Kroger?
