April 29, 201412 yr well lets be thankful it did'nt set the whole thing on fire. How unfortunate would that be with their grand reopening in less than a month?
April 29, 201412 yr I wonder if that did any damage to the electrical systems on the ride. Having lightning strike that close or even hit a structure can easily destroy electrical systems. I hope they either have or are reviewing the addition of a lightning suppression/protection system for this and other tall rides in the park.
April 29, 201412 yr Ride systems can be damaged during electrical storms..TTD & Millie both got struck during a bad one my year, both rides down for two days while the proxies on the lift were replaced.
April 30, 201412 yr Don't know if I will get an answer or if I'm even allowed to share it if I did. But I'll attempt to get a Thunder Run update tomorrow at work.
April 30, 201412 yr I'd keep shut on the topic. as I would think that the same standards that apply to any Kings Island employee on KIC would apply to any other situation, even if it is not a KI employee.
April 30, 201412 yr Yeah we have a similar confidentiality agreement that I could see my saying on it may violate depending on how someone looks at it so I will not divulge. Let's just stick with it has been taken care of.
May 1, 201412 yr Author I have seen a photo on facebook of one of Lightning Run's train being installed on the transfer track. It should not be long until testing starts.
May 1, 201412 yr Yes train 1 for Lightning Run has arrived today and has been fully installed on track.
May 2, 201412 yr Hate to double post but I found out where I am going to be stationed for the 2014 season. You all can find me in the "Thunder Zone" which includes Thunder Run, Mile High Falls, Roller Skater, Flying Dutchman, Fire Chief, and Bella Musica. I hope to see some of you this summer!

May 7, 201412 yr Wow even I haven't been up there yet. That looks like one heck of a slide! Edit: Also I am starting to be nervous for the opening day. It's quickly approaching and I feel we are going to be very busy. Can't believe how quickly the day is approaching.

May 8, 201412 yr Jeez that water slide! Do you have to stick a wedge of wood in your crack so as not to have your swim trunks surgically removed from your intestine?

May 8, 201412 yr Author Kings Island will be selling discounting tickets here in Louisville and Lexington for $34.99 at Krogers? Those tickets will also include free unlimited soft drinks until June 30th?
May 9, 201412 yr Guys I received a large surprise from the Kingdom today. I learned I was being promoted to be in charge of the operation of the Thunder Zone. Apparently I have really impressed in the last few months with my quality of work. This will give me an even greater chance of interacting with some of you as I will be moving sporadically throughout my zone to ensure smooth and proper operation. I just really hope I am able to live up to and exceed all standards that are expected of me and I am now ready for Kentucky Kingdom's 2014 season. See all of you guys there!

May 9, 201412 yr I looked at this sign and instantly thought. Why does this remind me of Six Flags? Then I found this. Maybe I'm crazy but that was my initial reaction. Anyone else?
May 9, 201412 yr Jeez that water slide! Do you have to stick a wedge of wood in your crack so as not to have your swim trunks surgically removed from your intestine? and you may just get a lightning speed enema as well.

May 10, 201412 yr Because isnt it called Six Flags: Kentucky Kingdom? Depends upon which way you are heading towards the park. 264-W STILL has a Six Flags sign. SMH.
