King's Island's ex-webcam

Featured Replies

Not to start a war or anything, but I specifically recall that PKI used to have multiple webcam views from the top of the Eiffel Tower. I remember one was pointed toward Son of Beast/King Cobra and another showed the view of Runaway Reptar.

My question...where did the webcam(s) go? Does anyone know if PKI removed the actual cameras from the tower?

The last I remember the webcam is when they were building Reptar. Before that it was pointed at the Royal Fountain or Son of Beast. As far as I know, the actual camera is still mounted on top of the Eiffel Tower, however, they do not have it hooked up to the internet site. I know that Jeff Siebert mentioned a redesign/upgrade to the website soon, so maybe they`ll bring it back, but I wouldn`t count on it since it has been down so long. It used to be a good way of guaging how crowded the park was before actually travelling to the park.

Jeff has mentioned several times that they are working on bringing it back. Though, it must be pretty low on the list of priorities... which it should be. The camera can actually be used for other things such as a security cam. So maybe at the time they see it more pheasable as that rather than a web cam. It would be nice to have it back with the addition of another, that way they can show two different angles of the park.
