Did The Vortex kill any body or run off it's track.

Did the King Kobra run off it's Track. I know it killed people.

Vortex never has had any problems. KC did have a accident shortly after it first opened, one of the train's rear wheels did come off the track, but nobody was killed.

On a ride that is a clone of King Cobra at a diffrent paramount park someone was throwen from the restraints and I think injured, or they may have been killed.

That ride was not an exact clone of KC but similar. Yes someone did die on that ride because they came out of the restraints on their own will, not due to poor design or failure.

The rides name was The Shockwave. It was a similar ride to the KC. "Timothy Fan, 20, of New York slipped through a harness and fell from his seat." This is straight from the Cincinnati Enquirer. This ride is currently at Kings Dominion.

I remember this incident as I was at band camp when I heard about it. If I recall correctly, it happened in the helix portion of the ride. No one was killed and it was just a wheel, which made the train stop in its place.

On Shockwave at PKD, a man who was INTOXICATED got onto the ride, and on his own free will, got out of the restraints and was thrown from the car.

I see several problems with this. 1) shouldnt the ride ops stopped the man if he was that intoxicated? Because, if every employee remembers, if we find someone who is high/intoxicated, we can tell them they cannot ride. 2) How come the restraint wasnt very tight? I know you could move those restraints a little, but it should have been right up against his body, not loose at all. Just my thoughts.

SOB TOM, are you sure the guy was intoxicated? I did a google and found several articles on the incident (it occured on 8/25/99) but not a single one mentions intoxication. Are you confusing it with the incident on Flight Commander at PKI where alcohol did play a part?

From what I can remember, the guy was intoxicated, which is one of the major reasons why the ride was not closed permanently. He passed out during the ride and slipped out of the harnesses.

He did not pass out. He was conscious while he removed himself from the harness.

I don`t recall if he was intoxicated or not. I do know that after the incident, King Cobra reopened with a seatbelt that connected the two shoulder bars.
