August 20, 200322 yr This morning I heard on the news that the Surf Cincinnati Water Park will go up for sale on the auction block. Any chance that PKI could be buying it and relocating all the rides? Or is it just good timing to make us think. If somehow I can get the kids screen name that used to go to school with me I'll try and find out if he knows anything, because his dad owns Surf Cincinnati.
August 20, 200322 yr I'm sure he couldn't say if he wanted to. If KI bought some of the Surf Cincinnati slides than someone probably signed a confidentiality statement.
August 20, 200322 yr Author You obviously don't know his kid. I can't find his screen name anywhere so I can't find out anyways. We'll just have to wait and see. Edited January 1, 197056 yr by Tanner
August 20, 200322 yr Think about it... most of KI's slides are pretty old themselves. I rode a few the other day and noticed how horribly bad they were leaking water. That is water that doesn't get repumped back through the slide because it is going straight into the ground. They were having this same problem with the fountain last year, and what did they do about it... completely gut it and rebuild it. Now... Surf Cincinnati's slides are all very old. I highly doubt KI would just either ..a)replace all their old slides with someone else's old slides... b)keep old their old slides and add more old slides. Who wants old crap, when the park is trying to make a new "exotic" area... not a new "hazardous, I think I might fall through this" looking area. I could be completely wrong, but I highly doubt KI would have already announced a hint to a water park expansion if they were relying on buying old slides from an auction that hasn't happened yet. Its an auction, someone else might out-bid them.. then were would they be.. stuck with announcing a new waterpark and having no slides.
August 20, 200322 yr Did Surf Cincinnati have any slides or attractions that were unique or worth saving? I never visited so I don't know. But like Beastfreak said why would PKI want some stuff from a park that closed down. If the slides and attractions had been any good at Surf Cincinnati, they wouldn't have closed.
