That area of the park really amazes me, too. To think of all the details.

What is that building next to Screamin' Demon in the lower right hand corner of the third picture from the top of this thread?

^i'm not sure, but it looks like the air-brushed tee-shirt stand located in oktoberfest.

Bottom left is currently Stunt Crew Grill back then it was called "Kafe Kilmanjaro"

Lower Right was "Nairobi Nursery Hut" & in 1987 "Small Animal Habitat"

Top Right is the monorail maintenance building, currently it's the steel coaster maintenance shop.

Wow I never knew Kings Island named "The Beastie" Scooby Doo at one point. I have always known it as Beastie. Scooby Doo Coaster was at Carowinds to me.

Actually, you have that backwards. KI named Scooby Doo "Beastie". The ride was Scooby Doo from 1972 - 1979, then it was Beastie 1980 - 2005.

Yeah I have seen these. I miss how the park was when I was younger Hanna-Barbera Land was classic, I remember Smurfs being every nook and cranny when I went when I was younger. I miss The Smurfs Enchanted Voyage I LOVED that ride... Phantom Theater was ok didn't really care for it all that much. Scooby-Doo I love how that coaster was painted yellow.

KI has a 1970 construction pic on their Facebook page. I'm not at my normal computer so I can't post it. I'm sure someone reading this can.

Nice to see the 1972 map posted. To this, the Rotor remains the only ride that has EVER made my lose my lunch. That ride was the epitome of spin-n-puke.

Is that the same building heavily redone for phantom on or did they tear it down and build a new one? It looks so much different now
