I think the thing looks killer!

I think a Nascar, or racing in general, theme is going to fit it perfectly.

The high banked, high speed turns are be great!

The only thing that makes me scratch my head is the name. I know it is based on the height.

But this thing is named/endorsed by DEI, Childress, and Chevy. Any Chevy guy would agree that the 305 V8 is the absolute WORST V8 engine Chevy made! LOL. They should have made it 304, or 306, just to keep that number away from it!!!

Ok this thing is all about one thing: Speed!

I mean look at ring racer's annimation, all it is is speed and then is slows down immediatly after the launch, why isnt that getting any critism?

After I saw it announced, I plan on going back to BG to get some more Apollo's Chariot goodness. It is my new favorite ride. Blows DB out of the water, sorry.

Apollo's Chariot? Better than Diamondback? I'm really sorry but NO. AC is a good ride and all, but you don't really get much airtime on the camelbacks. You get more airtime going down the first drop and going down the drop after the MCBR. On DB, every hill before the MCBR is PACKED with floater air. Plus I prefer the open seating to the old 4- across.

Heck, it's not even my favorite in that park. Or second.

I wonder why?

What's an "overhead lap bar"?

It is a lap bar that comes down over your head and there are restraints that go over your sahoulders, but never touch you.

Oh. That kind of sucks then. Wouldn't that mean not nearly as much airtime? As Diamondback has the free feeling. Seems a lot more intense like that.

See Pilgrim's Plunge. THOSE are overhead lap bars, and the information on the Intimidator website was likely changed to avoid any confusion, as its restraint system appears to be a Maverick clone which is quite different.

Are those the bars behind them on Pilgrim's Plunge? Is that what you're talking about? (Sorry for being so curious )

I am sitting here dying with laughter at all the people on this board who bash coaster after coaster and then have the nerve to call themselves enthusiasts. If you find something wrong with every coaster in existence and even get to the point where you refuse to ride certain things just because it's an Intamin, Vekoma, etc.. guess what? Your kidding. AC is just a mediocre B&M. The first hill is a joke with the false first drop. There are a few decent elements to it but DB is a much stronger ride with much stronger G-forces both positive & negative ones. Now Nitro at SFGAdv on the other hand is right up there with DB. This is the best of the older generation B&M sit downs IMO.

We will be on Goliath tomorrow to be able to compare it as well.

That isn't a "fake hill" on AC. B&M's signatures are pre-drops. It's not supposed to be a scary "fake" hill... It's to reduce strain on the chain lift. And also, it's an amazing ride. Really. It has some incredible elements Diamondback just doesn't. It's turnaround is an incredible rising helix, it does some awesome dives on its side... Very amazing, and airtime out the wazoo. Overall, I prefer Diamondback, yes, but AC is HARDLY mediocre. And I've been on plenty of B&Ms.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but at the announcement there was a sign saying the height requirement is only 40 inches... Millennium Force's height requirement is 48 inches, I wander why this is 8 inches lower? Cause if it really does use the OTSRs like Maverick, than I'd think it's height requirement would be 52 inches.

Its a single "c" shaped bar that raises and lowers over one's head, and rests on or close to one's lap, with no portions of the device crossing or covering one's shoulders, hence the name over the shoulder lap bar. Now, cruise on over to the Intimidator305 webpage and take note of the devices on the train rendering... or take a look at any photos of Maverick's trains and the difference will be self-explanatory.

Thank you! I'm glad at least one person understands what I mean, instead of twisting my words around and then blowing a gasket at me.

I'm amused at the large amount of people who can't just enjoy coasters.. they have to be negative, nitpicky, and make everything an argument.. the only person's day they're ruining is their own, so IMO they need to take an extra strength chill pill and just enjoy life.

The whole thing just doesn't look that great to me. I wish it was taller, and was faster. One of the main reasons I like MF is the views, and how fantastic is looks in the skyline. This coaster will have the latter. I wish it would have more hills, but whatever. It looks like good fun.

Well, at least they are honest because really, there are only two hills (first drop and second hill). The rest are just 'humps'.

Look at it this way,with the OTSR's it allows for smaller riders to safely enjoy the ride....the height requirement is only gonna be 48 inches so that's a plus for both my nephews who are getting passes in 2010 so they can ride.I'm still a little disappointed with the layout though but after looking at the model at the front of the park I think it may prove to be a decent ride.

Yesterday at the park was crazy what with the huge storm that rolled in around 2 pm & shut everything down til around 5:30 & I never thought it was gonna stop raining but fortunately it did because darn if I'm gonna go to KD & only get on one ride before calling it a day.
