My girlfriend bought a gold pass for the '09 season this past fall but now she wants to upgrade it to a platinum pass. Is this even possible, or do we not even know at the moment?

Yes, I did it last year. You just have to do it on a day when the park is in operation. Go up to one of the season pass windows and tell them you want to upgrade, and they just charge you the difference.

Absolutely. Have her take the pass to the park after it opens and she can upgrade by paying the difference. Please note that she may not necessarily be able to do this during the extra season pass processing days beginning April 1st.

Thanks for the quick replies! I ask cause we are planning to go to CP twice this summer, and we realized it would be cheaper to just buy a platinum pass than it would be to buy a gold pass, a 2 day ride and slide pass for CP and pay the parking fee twice, plus we get the ERT.

Yeah it is way cheaper just to pay the 50+ dollars to upgrade.

Platinum is definitely worth the price if you plan to visit CP and KI. I'm going on year 3 with my platinum because I love both parks. It's more than worth the extra money to get the park benefits from both CP and KI.

I visited CP 7 times last year and KI 13 times.. my platinum had cost $150.. I added up how much tickets and parking would have been otherwise, and I was shocked at how much money I'd saved.

The parking alone pays for it, and as Im closer to CP then KI (1.25 vs 3 hrs) I also use it to get into Soak City as well. Not to mention, with the PP you get ERT for an hour up in Sandusky.

I actually visited CP alone enough times to pay for my pass last year. 6 days at the park plus 6 days of parking = way more than $150. Not to mention the 13 visits to KI.

With trips planned for knotts berry farm,Cedar Point and Kings Island i will be saving a lot with platinum pass.

It depends, quite literally, on what was paid for the pass you have. Current selling price of the pass you want to upgrade to minus what you paid for the pass you have. The park has a record of what you paid for the pass you have, though it never hurts to have a receipt!

Well, the answer is still the same. They take the current selling price of a Platinum Pass and subtract what you paid for what you have. You pay the difference, and VOILA, you get Platinum!

There is no deadline to upgrade to Platinum. Cedar Fair would be indeed foolish to not accept the many, many nickels guests who upgrade to Platinum pay. That is not to say the price won't go up. It may...

Platinum Passes are good at Soak City also. Platinum is the only way to go if you travel, have already used mine at Carowinds twice, Kings Dominion 4 times, and Kings Island 3 times, going to Cedar Point to camp in two weeks so it will be used many more times this summer.

By camping, do you mean pitching a tent? Or bringing an RV? Just curious as I was looking to camp out sometime this summer when I go to Cedar Point.
