November 20, 200817 yr The one thing I'd give up IMMEDIATELY, and others have advised you likewise, is the scavenger hunt. It will take up most of your day, there will be MANY Dollywood experts there, and you will have virtually no chance of winning. A word to the wise....there are so many other wonderful things that that time can be spent doing....
November 20, 200817 yr Yes give up the scavenger hunt, not worth wasting your time when you can actually enjoy Dollywood. What a waste of time at a park like Dollywood. I dont think your mom will need a break if you let her hit the shows and the craftsmen valley. She will never know that she is in an amusement park. Not to mention that the majority of all the shows are inside in heated theaters. The weather will not be a huge factor except for coaster ridding. You have Terpy, myself and others making suggestions on how to enjoy the most out of Dollywood, but if you still choose to participate in said enthusiast scavenger hunt go for it. You are just missing one of the most amazing parks around at an amazing time of year. On another note and one more reasson of my distaste for a certain coaster group. Lights on ERT for Blazing Furry for the last half hour!!! ~RailRider shaking his head...
November 20, 200817 yr To me its like peaking behind to current to stare at the Wizzard. Why is it necessary, what purpose does it serve, the questions go on? Not exciting and ruins the experience. A headlight and a horn before a drop are exciting in the dark, but not with the lights on.
November 20, 200817 yr Author Well note that it's the LAST half, so enthusiasts will be treated to both experiences.
November 20, 200817 yr This is a dumb question but are the coasters and rides open at Dollywood all year long?
November 20, 200817 yr Author This is a dumb question but are the coasters and rides open at Dollywood all year long? No they close for most of January, February, and most of March. Now the forcast says 45 degrees, lord talk about close!
November 20, 200817 yr Well note that it's the LAST half, so enthusiasts will be treated to both experiences. I would personaly skip the lights on portion.
November 20, 200817 yr Elusive or Exclusive? Either way, because it ruins the attraction in my opinion. Like ridding SDatHC with the lights on or even The Revenge of The Mummy with the Lights on. Why? But hey enjoy your lights on ride and the scavenger hunt...
November 20, 200817 yr Author Why ride FoF with the lights on? Sorry, just came to mind. Because I find it to be not only an experience that I should take advantage of but because it also would be nice for me to check the ride out and see all of the ways it works and whatnot.
November 20, 200817 yr Yeah, but FoF is an enclosed coaster. Blazing Furry is more than that. But hey enjoy.
November 21, 200817 yr Author My camera is charging and I'm packing my long-sleeve shirts, we're headed out tomorrow at 4:00 PM. Unfortunately this is going to be a tight weekend so it looks like I may park myself on the sofa on Sunday night or Monday and do one of the biggest PTR's this site has ever seen.

Unfortunately this is going to be a tight weekend so it looks like I may park myself on the sofa on Sunday night or Monday and do one of the biggest PTR's this site has ever seen. I was kind of hoping that'd be saved for one of the amusement park's Holy Grails like GAdv or MM, but ok....
November 21, 200817 yr Author Well I'm doing a PTR on my entire weekend, and maybe when I go to GAdv or MM then I'd post an even BIGGER ptr!
November 23, 200817 yr Author I'm back!!!! It didn't go exactly as planned at all, and I only got 3 new credtis, but I had a blast! PTR is coming later today..... FIRE IN THE HOLE!!!!!!
