Son of Beast. I remember waiting just over 3 hours for it on it's opening day.

3 hours for Millennium Force my first time at Cedar Point.

TOTALLY worth the wait.

Ha ha ha I only had to wait 1 hour 20 minutes for the front seat!

Friday June 6th. 2008 during ERT at Coaster Mania!

Very Early June, It's never crowded then!

Yes

3.5 hours for MF in 2000, actually did that a few times, totally worth it too. Besides that though, Ive never really waited more then 3 hours (and rarely, rarely over 2) for any amusement ride. If you expand it to shows though, I grabed my spot for The Boston Pops, Pops Goes the Fourth concert about 12 hours before it started and waited 4.5 hours for the Lombardi Trophy to return to Lambeau Field on a cold January afternoon/night in 1996. They too were totally worth it.

^Yes as in it is crowded or yes as in I am correct?

Yes your correct, i went in early June. Im going to CP again on Sunday!

Anyone remember the lines for Torture Tower the first year for Fear Fest in 2000? Those were insane, but well worth the wait.

What exactly was Torture Tower?

3 hours for Millennium Force.

2 hours 45 minutes for The Beast.

Totally worth every second waiting for both.

The Beast is a good coaster, don't get me wrong, but nearly three hours to ride it? There's no way I'd be able to do that, even if it was for a night-time ride.

Firehawk could take a 5 minute wait and make it seem like 3 days just from the heat and glaring sun...When I stood in line for about 45 minutes for it this summer, I lived for the 2 or 3 minutes I got to spend standing by one of those mist fans...And they have the canopies, but they don't help a whole lot.

The line for Firehawk is one of the few places where it pays to carry one of those portable fan/squirt bottle things you see Tourists with so much in the summer.

grrrr

TAKE ME WITH YOU!!!!!!!!

1995, Raptor at Cedar Point. 3 1/2 hours. it was one hell of a coaster no doubt, but I would never do it again!

What exactly was Torture Tower?

It was an ill advised attempt at a house at the top of the tower. It was very popular, but capacity was, understandably, limited, which resulted in very long lines. It included, among other things, the usual electric chair with a victim gag. Capacity was horrid, employees (who were instructed to do so) banged on the floor of the tower with some observers reporting damage (similar banging went on on the cars on Phantom Theater, to the absolute horror of some park guests...including me..I was afraid irresponsible guests would copy the behavior of the irresponsible park managers who allowed such later, when the park was no longer in Fear Fest mode...they also tossed rubber snakes into the cars at first, until guest complaints put a stop to that).

The longest i have ever had to wait was probably 1 1/2 for Tomb Raider. I may have also waited over an hour for Firehawk but Tomb Raider felt like the longest.

At least with Tomb Raider, part of the line is inside with A/C ;)

Remember back in the day...they had "beast" footprints, painted in yellow on the concrete where the line for The Beast would extend...almost to the pizza joint if I remember correctly. I guess they blacktopped over those many moons ago....

Yeah, I think just about every line is better than the Firehawk line.

They also had orange Vortex track prints extending close to the carousel, and I seem to remember similar prints for AE, KC, and maybe even Amazon/Congo Falls.

Some years they were orange. They were redone not too many years back (like four, I believe), for Beast's anniversary. And they may be back next year...I don't think they were paved over, but wore off from the many, many feet and the weather...

And they may be back next year

Terpy what influenced you to say that? I hope you are right but I doubt it

When Terpy says something, he says what he says....he didn't say anything about anything being confirmed, he didn't cite a source, and he remained well within the terms of service here. He also said all he's gonna say about that.

He's like that.

Sometimes.

You are mysterious in a childish sort of way, I like that.

The longest line that I waited for was on The Bat back in 81. I waited about 2 hours in the mid-day sun to ride The Bat and for my reward got my head sun burned. But it was worth the wait to ride The Bat and I am glad that I got to ride it before they tore it down.

  • 2 weeks later...

2 MINUTES - TOP THRILL DRAGSTER

3 MINUTES - MILLENNIUM FORCE

LESS THAN 5 FOR THE REST OF Cedar Point'S RIDES

XD

totally serious.

we got VIP's.

:]

seriously an amazing thing.

well for real now; i'd say...Drop Zone 2 hours, Face/Off 2 hours, Flight of Fear 3 hours, and...Firehawk = ridiculous!

ooh, soon to be; Diamondback - 9 hours

hahaha.

^OOORRRR, you could just go on a Friday or Sunday in October. Ive gotten those waits both times I have done that (and plan to go twice this year) and I did it without dropping some serious $$$.
