July 23, 200818 yr Ok, so they have set an announce date, construction is picking up pace, track is already arriving, and we are in july. I'm thinking that if they are going to start track installation this soon, there must be some heavy themeing involved like mavericks. Have the coaster (at least around the station and such) built so they spend the fall, winter, and into spring on construction of themeing? Would think if it was just a plain ol coaster with a plain station, would be no need to start this early on installing the track. Thoughts?
July 23, 200818 yr It's Cedar Fair...I wouldn't expect much in the way of theming. And what theming there is will doubtless be kept up much better than Paramount Parks did with, say, Adventure Express, Italian Job, etc.
July 23, 200818 yr Look at Canada`s Wonderland and Behemoth. Granted the Canadian winters can be a little bit harsher, they also didn`t have the challenge of working around a main park midway to construct their new coaster. Keep in mind that track started showing up around this time at Wonderland. Maybe KI is trying to have the ride completed ahead of schedule so that they can open the ride before Memorial Day weekend.
July 23, 200818 yr ...especially if the rails are filled with sand, like Talon or Alpengeist! Terpy, dodgin' Haha. I love listening to the soft roar of a B&M. It's kinda peaceful.

The two coasters of which I wrote are so eerily silent you can have a hushed conversation mid-ride. It's quite...different.
July 23, 200818 yr You know, kids, if you're bored in the next few days/weeks/months you could watch the Artimis cameras on I-275 and I-71 for trucks en route from CSF to KI. Here's I-275 and Ohio 32: http://www.artimis.org/camera/camera109.php I-275 and Ohio 131: http://www.artimis.org/camera/camera105.php I-275 north of Loveland-Madeira Rd: http://www.artimis.org/camera/camera107.php I-275 and Montgomery Rd: http://www.artimis.org/camera/camera38.php I-275 and I-71: http://www.artimis.org/camera/camera41.php I-71 at Mason-Montgmery Rd: http://www.artimis.org/camera/camera96.php
July 23, 200818 yr ...especially if the rails are filled with sand, like Talon or Alpengeist! Terpy, dodgin' Interesting. Those are my two favorite B&M inverts!
July 23, 200818 yr Well, I guessed right on at least part of it... IF they're building a coaster. I'm predicting red track and gray or black supports.
July 23, 200818 yr Am I completely blind? Could someone help me here and point it out? Thanks Click on the shaky "Tazmanian Devil-ish" crate. Very cool! I moused over that box and I very nearly jumped out of my chair. Jeez... I love the track's color, but it's alot like Firehawk's. Maybe they had too much paint left over. It needs painted again then, cause it's looking like the current paint is chipping off. I think that the park should set up more of a display with a big countdown clock at the Construction Site where the Signs are now. That will really get people interested for next year even if they don't know about the B&M. 100th Post! I'd settle for signs, LED style, informing guests of wait times for various rides. The teasers are neat, and I really can't wait to hear more about this thing.
July 23, 200818 yr I think Cedar Fair is obsessed with the color red. lol And Intamins, the letter "M", and hawks!
July 23, 200818 yr The Teaser is no longer on Kings Island's Website!!! Nevermind, I think my computer is just being dumb.
July 23, 200818 yr We just got the "press release" for the announcement. Pics below. It is a 24" bolt with a tag attached.
July 23, 200818 yr That is a rather nice way to market the press release. I think KI marketing has done a great job so far on this ride and the marketing bits and pieces that have been leaked out. Much more buzz surrounding this than any other coaster or project in recent history.
July 23, 200818 yr My apologies... the tag lists the event at 2 pm. I don't know why I thought it said 8. In this case, I don't know if the information will be available before the press announcement.

July 23, 200818 yr Well, if the server does crash, you will have no choice but to say "No" should someone ask: Are you being served?
