Last time I went to KI we went on a Thursday and the crowds weren't too bad. CP on the other hand I went on a weekend and it was crazily crowded.

My brother won't PICK a week in June, it looks like the last week of June.

I know when I went to Carowinds, it wasn't crowded on the weekdays, but curious are they worse at KI on the weekends or is it better to go like in the middle of the week?

Any park, anywhere is almost always busier on Saturdays than any other day. Sunday mornings usually aren't too bad, but right after church lets out, it gets much, much busier. MOST weekdays are better than any Saturday. Weather, which can't easily be predicted, is always a factor. The grounds, by the way, are usually clean at Kings Island these days, regardless of the day!

I went to KI on weekdays last year and never had a problem with the waits. Firehawk was normally about 45 minutes to an hour, FoF and SoB about 20-30 minutes and everything else was 15 or less.

I would say that is a good summary of a typical summer weekday at KI...

I love weekdays during the summer. I think its a more relaxed atmosphere. On weekends you get more of the "this is my only visit to KI" crowd.

I wish KI would incorporate "fast pass tickets" like Disney World. For example: get a fast pass ticket for FOF that tells you to come back at a certain time and you go right to the front of the line...while your waiting for that time..you stand in line for Firehawk. It really is a sweet deal.

Be careful what you wish for. Six Flags has in effect done that, and calls it fast pass. It is not free. To put it mildly. And at some of their parks, such as Six Flags Over Georgia and Six Flags Great Adventure, on a busy day the park is almost unbearable should you choose to try to ride but not to buy one. Don't believe it? Read the parks' own words in the first sentence of the quote below!

And you really only need the Speed Lanes on the weekends anyway. It's totally unnecessary on weekdays with the lack of crowds.

^That's exactly what I thought reading the title of the topic.

When I first read the title, I thought it had to do with the ground actually being softer or wetter on the weekends compared to the weekdays.

Which would then lead the discussion to how much Vortex has sunk since it opened.

I'm sorry if you all thought I meant is it cleaner, I wasn't thinking along those lines. I guess I should've been more specific, sorry.
