April 4, 200818 yr The park was kind enough to send me some photos of the new signs for the Backlot Stunt Coaster, The Crypt, and the Kings Island Theatre. Click the link below to check them out! http://www.KICentral.com/photos/thumbnails.php?album=216
April 4, 200818 yr I still havent seen any photos of Flight Decks sign?Even openinig day at other parks,no one has shown a pic of flight decks.Im really intreiged about what it will look like.
April 4, 200818 yr Its really nice for the park (Don) to be sharing all of these photos with us, there have now been several updates each week with photos from all over the park. Good to see
April 5, 200818 yr Minor pet peeve... they opted for the poor mans spelling of "Theater." The classier "Theatres" are spelled r-e.
April 5, 200818 yr Minor pet peeve... they opted for the poor mans spelling of "Theater." The classier "Theatres" are spelled r-e. That would have been nice. Along with that I'm not awfully fond of the typeface. Something more elegant or perhaps art deco would be more appropriate.
April 5, 200818 yr I was one of many not thrilled with the names....but now seeing the names with the look of the logos, not bad at all ....
April 5, 200818 yr Author Minor pet peeve... they opted for the poor mans spelling of "Theater." The classier "Theatres" are spelled r-e. Shaggy, do you know how many hillbillies would be asking where the "other" theatre is if they spelled it that way?
April 5, 200818 yr I don't know if it was like this before (because I would rarely visit the KI Theatre/Theater) but did it have neon lights like that? Because to me, the neon lights don't exactly match the style of the building. Other than that, I really like the new signs. Thanks for the update!
April 5, 200818 yr I noticed they took down the columns and sign that stood in front of the Theater from the Paramount days. Looks better IMO.
April 5, 200818 yr Author I like the Paramount one myself, but hey... not unlike a person, it's what's inside that counts!
April 5, 200818 yr Yeah, it looks like when the Paramount version was there, it somewhat hid the condition of the "roof"-althought I know thats just a facade. Shingles are looking rough, though.
April 5, 200818 yr Great pictures!! I'm pleased that Paramount is no long part of the park. The new signs and themes give the park a fresh new look and feel.
April 5, 200818 yr I will say that I prefer the Paramount Theater better, the whole facade is much more ascetically pleasing.
April 5, 200818 yr I like the Paramount one myself, but hey... not unlike a person, it's what's inside that counts! The shows this year are going to be great. Can't wait to see 'on ice' again!
April 5, 200818 yr Minor pet peeve... they opted for the poor mans spelling of "Theater." The classier "Theatres" are spelled r-e. Well, the spelling matches the sign style. <G> Crypt sign is a hit. Kings Island Theater leaves much to be desired.
April 5, 200818 yr It's pretty bad when we start complaining about the shingles on a building. I relay like the Crypt logo.
April 5, 200818 yr Dear friends The new signs look great can't wait to see them this summer. Take care God bless see you this summer Marcia
April 5, 200818 yr I agree with the other posters I like the look of the Backlot Stunt Coaster and the crypt, both better then what I thought they would be. The Kings Island Theater, though looks like they did it on the cheap. The Paramount Facade, in my opinion, looked much nicer. But I guess this is the Cedar Fair affect, the company as never been known for caring too much about themeing. They pretty much follow the RTC approach to amusement parks, cotton candy stand 1, rollercoaster 2, fries stand 3.
April 5, 200818 yr Crypt is the winner great name great look, can't wait to see the flight deck and the whole park , even the theatre looks great!! Welcome back Kings Island:
April 5, 200818 yr ...I'm pleased that Paramount is no long part of the park.... I'm sure you weren't thinking this when you were making your little guidebook thing.

It looks to be neon lighting. That certainly was not cheap.
April 5, 200818 yr Well, the Theater sign was certainly not made on the cheap. It looks to be neon lighting. That certainly was not cheap. It certainly looks cheap, at least compared to the previous sign...i don't think the sign is horrible by any means, but its a huge contrast from the previous sign that made the theatre look majestic...
April 5, 200818 yr Well considering if found a company that does custom neon work and charges about 7 dollars a foot, and I would guess that the sign has less then 300 feat of neon in it, that is only $2,100 which in my book is pretty cheap. I mean I could afford that. so for a large public company yeah I would say it was done on the cheap and looks it. Just my opinion. The other sings look good though, and we only have the one picture, so maybe it will look better in person.

I'm not disagreeing that the sign certainly does not live up to the history of this show place. What I'm saying is that it was not created or installed inexpensively. The thing is, they could have spent less money and made the sign actually fit the venue. Obviously someone that is "designed challenged" created it.
