In one word. No. This is not true. No one has ever been killed on The Vortex, nor to my knowledge, has anyone been seriously injured on that ride.

No, Woofer... you're wrong. It was because it was sinking that the restraints came loose and the sinking part shot them out.

I never thought about that.

My question is why was a pregnant woman riding Vortex.

It's a darn shame all this happened.

I dont know if it was true but she insists it happened

It did NOT happen, if it did Vortex would either be gone of SBNO. My sister used to tell me stuff like that... mainly to just scare me.

And I INSIST that A poor old lady died on The Bat!

Don't believe everything you hear.

Sorry, :( i beleive a lot of things my sister says because most of the time its true

First, it did not happen. But, second, coasters that have had deaths usually do continue to operate. See, for instance, Raven at Holiday World, Rolling Thunder at Six Flags Great Adventure, Timber Wolf at Worlds of Fun, etc.

I remember hearing that rumor about The Bat way back in the late 80's. Never heard this one about The Vortex. Although, I know for a fact neither one is true.

Except for the time that one of The Vortex trains left the tracks.

I think they attributed that to the sinking too.

*** But seriously... How do ya think that rumors like this get started? There simply is no basis in fact?

I had never heard that someone died on Raven... when did that happen (not doubting you, of course, but just curious)?

*** Great Laurel and Hardy Bit:

Miss Lola: "Tell me. Tell me about my dear, dear daddy. Is it true that he's dead?"

Stan: "Well, we hope he is. . . they buried him."

Lola: "Oh, it can't be. What did he die of?"

Stan: "I think he died of a Tuesday, or was it a Wednesday?"

Yes someone did die on raven in 2003 The lady unbuckled her seatbelt and had her lapbar up and was flung out during the event Stark Raven Mad.

I remember rumors of "the Sky Ride" that when something happened to cause them to shut down for several hours that they started crashing to the ground.

I was there that night at the event. Everyone was supposed to be in the picnic grove eating, but they decided to get their own food and catch some rides on raven. She was in the back seat with her fiance that had proposed that night. Mrs. Koch came to the picnic grove and told us what had happened and that the event was over. It was around 8:30and The park closed at 9. We were waiting in the picnic grove untill the guests were out, then we were supposed to have ERT till midnight. Obviously that didnt happen.

The lady unbuckeled the seatbelt, only had one click on he restraint, and was standing up on the ride. Anyone who's been on raven knows about that midcourse drop.

That's o.k. She just want's to scare you off the ride, so she can have bragging rights:

"I rode Vortex and you didn't! Ha Ha!"

Just ingore her.

Anyone who's been on raven knows about that midcourse drop.

Oi, I can't even imagine going over that drop without a seatbelt and the restraint basically all the way up. And I heard that she was in the last car - is that correct? Because I rode Raven last row twice, and that's some of the craziest air I've ever gotten. Now to get that without anything holding you back...:wacko:

In Japan a few people died on a Togo stand up not to long ago, but i don't think it was the same as King Cobra.

In August of 1999, a guest died on Shockwave at what was then Paramount's Kings Dominion. It was as a result of that incident that the little orange 'seat belts' appeared on the restraining devices. By all accounts, the guest attempted to exit the train, and succeeded.

And that is why they Added the extra restraints on King Cobra, Correct?

It was as a result of that incident that the little orange 'seat belts' appeared on the restraining devices.

Ergo, Jackson, yes, that was the reason why they added the extra restraints to KC.

;)

The added the seat belts and made the lap bar longer after that happened at KD.
