Yes, it is. Not a big surprise, though. The blueprints indicated it and you could see the maintenance building for it under construction during the construction tour in December.

2020 Additions and Improvements
That was not one of the business involved in the 2019 renovation to my knowledge. I believe the front gate concept has floated around for a while. I seem to recall seeing someone post it on here in maybe 2015?

Kings Island to announce 2020 operating calendar on January 16, 2020 at 3 P.M.
I think that the end of the midnight closes in July will result in a more crowded park. Those are some of the most packed days of the summer, and the midnight close allows crowds to be a little more spread out.

From someone who goes to Mason, that day is a day off. They’re calling it a “Personal Learning Day.”

Yes, that is also my favorite operating Arrow, B&M, Intamin, wooden, and Vekoma coaster.

2020 Additions and Improvements
That isn’t the reason why, and to my knowledge there isn’t any height restrictions.

2020 Additions and Improvements
Sorry, can’t say a whole lot at the moment. It will be in the book. Sorry I can’t say more, but it was not cost-related.

2020 Additions and Improvements
The cost of steel is not the reason why.

Flight of Fear the good bad and the ugly
Agreed, but the ride itself is an AFC/KECO ride, not a Paramount one.

Flight of Fear the good bad and the ugly
Already designed and under construction when Paramount bought the park (albeit without the Top Gun name/theme).

The Amusement Park Railroad Thread
I’ve always been curious about the Palmersville sign after seeing it in so many photos from that era. Do you know when it was replaced by the current Losantiville sign?

Jeff Gramke to retire from Kings Island
It was a true honor to meet with Jeff Gramke back in October and interview him for my book. He’s a true living legend! He told me that he was retiring in the coming months, but I didn’t know exactly when. I hope he has a very happy retirement!

Vortex Removal Updates
If the reason to move it was so that we couldn’t watch Vortex’s demolition, they would have moved the Diamondback camera too. They didn’t.

Kings Island 2010 to 2019 Review
The 2010s were probably one of the best decades ever for Kings Island. The Kings Island of 2010 vs. the Kings Island of 2019 are two completely different parks, and I mean that in a good way. Mystic Timbers, Banshee, the International Street renovation, and everything in between this decade has mostly been incredible. It's also worth noting that the 2010s were the first decade since the 1970s that Kings Island did not change ownership!

Jamie Gaffney. That was the goal when I interviewed him December 9, I don’t know whether that’s changed or not.

The goal is to have track work done by February 1.

Quick (Jungle Jim's/Kings Island) Monorail Update
Great post, I sure wish they ran the monorail more often than just special events.

Opening day?
The ornaments can (could?) be bought at Emporium. That’s where I got mine. I never heard of them being sent exclusively by mail.

KI legends, ghost stories, and folktales
Here is an article I wrote on “Tower Johnny”: http://kingsislandghosts.blogspot.com/2018/04/the-truth-behind-tower-johnny.html?m=1 There are a couple other articles on my blog I’ve written about Missouri Jane, the Lion Country Safari mauling, etc. A while back I was planning on doing a Kings Island ghost story book. I wrote the whole thing but it never really got anywhere in terms of publishing, so I uploaded all the stories to my blog instead!

Locals concerned that Kings Island is violating noise ordinances
Orion is not going near their houses. It’s on the opposite side of the park from Diamondback. The whole thing is a non-story.

Locals concerned that Kings Island is violating noise ordinances
Orion is going in the opposite corner of the park than Diamondback. It's no wonder Mike Koontz doesn't really want to talk to them--it's a complete non-story.
