  1. I personally think this ride will be a blast, becuase it's sort of un predictable, i have ridden a ride very similar to this one at Holiday World in Indiana, it was a lot of fun so, i hope Tazmanian Tyhoon is the same! Let's Hope!
  2. LoL ,of course TOO much swaying is bad, but some SoB is PRETTY strong by just looking at it. I don't think the designers just threw some boards together and hoped it stayed up, they took their time and put eveerything together right so it can withstand the elements. Tough a ton of sway is not bad but some sway actually help the ride stay up. Again I'M starting to refer to the swaying that SoB does when a train crests the top of the lift hill heading towards the drop. Even if somthing awful did happen to SoB PKI has insurance to back up the reconstuction process, unless the entire structure came down, (not very likely, unless one huge earthquake hit!) So I don't think SoB is going anywhere and time soon! Let's hope it stays that way! SoB rules!
  3. I like guestions like these because there is actually proof and science behind it! Not just another opinion question, Good Question TheRickster!
  4. The designer or SoB designed it to sway not only in the wind but when people are on the ride too. If it didn't the ride would fall apart. The wind wouldn't make the big of a differance on SoB during a windy time becuae a lot of the eind can go stright thought the structure, but wind does make it sway a bit during a good gust. If you are ever at PKI stand right in front of the bathrooms outside the enterance of SoB queue and watch the top of the hill when a train passes. The whole top section actually sways out about a foot, but since they slowed something down (whether its the trains, chain or maybe it just seems slower because i have ridden it so many times, i dunno, but the slowed something down, maybe some one else knows) But my dad( a strutural engineer) and I were standing there watching it while my brother went to use the restroom and it visibly moves out! Try it some time, its pretty cool! I bet wind had to be a HUGE facture when building a structure that tall becuase of all of the latural stresses put on it during high winds. If SoB was a steel coaster then it wouldn't be that much of a problem. So yes wind does make some differance in the way SoB reacts. Let's just sa i don't think it's going anywhere unlike the PKI sign! LoL! Comment if you wish!
  5. Ok, PKI is just fine and dandy when it comes to coasters. CP doesn't a legendary Coaster at the park do they, nope. I didn't think so. They took our King Cobra for the safty of the people, not just to get rid of it for fun. They miss it too, but is is for YOUR own good. Our maybe you just really like people to die? Who Knows! I can say that I would like to see a coaster come to PKI some time soon but I'm not gonna complain about it because I'm sure that the is company that PKI has signed up with to design and build a coaster in the near future. So thats it over with. We know we have the best coasters they are just throewing up some piece of garbage every year os Six Flags Magic Mountain would beat them silly! No offince to the decend ride at CP(Mill Force, and Blue Steak etc...)Now TOP THRILL DRAGSTER is well in my opinion not a worldclass ride considering it was down for a month, and it's only 15 second long! Thats a waste! As for PKI our coasters are at least unique lets alone fun! Deirium is just fine!! That is probubly the best flat ride in the park let alone in the state. And i don't think it is a waste consitiderng it costed PKI a bunch of money to build the monster. I don't mind if you don't like it, that actually really good, just one less person who cloges the line, which makes it longer. Sp why don't we just look at what we have in fround of us and be happy that we have that!! Have fun with my opinion and I'm very sorry if i HURT anyones opinion, thats your problem!
  6. Exactly, I was freaking out this summer when i rode it for the first time at night!! I was like screaming and looking around in the dark as the train came closer and closer to that point in the ride. I was like, " Oh, no it's gonna happen and i closed my eyes and screamed!!" LOL but nothing did happen and after that I went on it again I am used to going on The Beast during the day but the ride has a whole new face a night time!!! A TON OF FUN!!! it's the best, but that dream did freak me out a bit!! lol
  7. This summer i actually had a night mere about PKI and The Beast! It was about my first time riding at night on The Beast. The station was set up defferantly though but the t.v's in the loading station were showing horror movies instead of the usual program they show with Grease and the dancing cats ect. But I was riding it and it was a ton more intence that it was normally. Our train came to the "double helix" and the part that has the declined track leading to the tunnels was like falling apart behind us as we went down toward the tunnels. The distuction caught up to us and our car flew off the tracks and hit the side of the tunnels instead of going though them. The train hit the ground and there were " dead bodies all over the place. I got up from off the ground and began to scream!........Then i woke up. It sounds stupid but I think if you were having the dream it would have been a little bit scary for you too!!
  8. Okay this forum.....if i remember right is about Winterfest, not the errosion of the fountains. I think they could aasily find another lplace to put in an temporary ice rink relatively close to the enterance of the park, there has to be a away! But thin rding ridesin the winter would be fun , but it would be cold. lol dress warmly. And hopefully if they went though with thw WinterFest they could keep the Eiffel Tower open so everyone could see the park and landscape with snow on it.
  9. You're right it would be cool!!! Chirstmas is nothing with out a huge Christmas tree!!!! A 300 foot one would be really cool!!!( Eiffel Tower)
  10. Man I REALLY hope that PKI brings back WinterFest. I think it would be so majical to have a couple of day around the Holidays to go to the park and just walk around. Noto to ride that ride but just to be in the park. Everyone is just so cheerful during the Holidays and just think how it would be walking down international street it's lightly snowing and all the trees are full of Christmas lights and Holiday music is playing in the backround, it would be so cool. I would thin it would be cool to ride Beast during the winter with some snowand the ground, i bet it would be a wild ride. But WinterFest would have to be in duringthe eveingg, so everyone could see the lights ( if they have um). Who knows maybe they would light up the Eiffel Tower with some differant lights or decorate it with so lights to make it look " Holiday Like" Wouldn't it be cool!!! Just think.............
  11. Ecaxtly, The centrifical force of the train coming aorund would make the wood on in thr stucture crack and eventual fall over if the cbles weren't there. It would be even worse if they didn't have them on the helix's!! Just think would that would do!!!
  12. you guys c'mon, it is an interesting question! Well, i know for sure Kiing's Island wouldn't close if they lost just one ride, but it the lost The Beast and a couple of their myore prized posetions , like the Eiffel Tower, then maybe they would close but really , I think if a fire happened i think they would worry more about the wooden rollercoaster more thatn the steel, first the are WOOD and second they are the some of the olded and most treasured rides in the park. I don't think the fire would hurt the steel ride much becuase , well they are mad of steel, but at high temperatures I'm sure it could do some damage. but they would probubly just repaint the steel coasters after they burntto touch um up. I don't really know about the exact science of "ride burning", maybe fyrfyter could help us? On the other hand, is there was an a very stong earthquake, PKI might be in for a rude awakening, becuase I know that the ride structures are to support under a small to moderate earthquake and they are to bend and givea little but if the was a bad one like and 8.0 or 9.0, then, well, there would be a mess!
  13. I'm going to PKI on Saturday(Tommorrow)August,9, 2003 and I'll check out what happing back there. and I'll report to you guys on Sunday. If there is going to be a coaster coming in 2004 it has to be anytime now before they announce it to everyone!! and Time is awastin'! And i hope it is soon!!!

I went to PKI on Sunday, May25, too. I thought the lines were very long, or the longest I have seen in a couple of seasons,....who know maybe I'm just lucky, but anyways. Delirium I must say, is a VERY COOOOOL ride, though is sorta short it's still a lot of fun!Drop Zone, that ride at always put me on the edge of my seat but this season it seems to be even more intense then what I remember it to be. Beast and Son of Beast are still my favorite rides at PKI, they will always be, and will never lose their touch! I didn't ride Scooby, and I don't really think I want to, but oh well. I have heard it was a good ride though. I rode just about every coaster yesterday besides Face/Off, it just sorta slipped paced me, I totally forgot about it. Well, PKI seems to be in very good condition right now, Good job staff! If any one can meet me at PKI on June 5, I might be able to ride a couple of ride with you or something, who know, If possible give me a shout! And I had a great time at PKI yesterday!
  15. I agree, I don't enjoy standing in a long line with some person puffing their silent killer(in other words, smoke) at me, I hate it!
  16. I bet you guys will jump all over me when I asked this question. But what EXACTLY is "snapping" and how do you do it? I bet who ever reads this will laugh, I feel pretty stupid asking this question but , what ever! Well, who ever want to explain this "snapping" to me I would like it!.......Go Ahead and Laugh!
  17. My vote would have to be in the "Yes, But not any more" catagory. The first time I rode it it scared me, but not any more, I can ride that ride all day..... It's a lot of FUN!!!!!
  18. I know this sounds a little strange but I think that PKI should make the International Street longer and have it go all the way under The Racer and sort of put a fork in it to go around FoF and then add on a couple of new sections of the park. Though this does sound a little strange but it would be better thank just adding another secton of the park onto a present secton. and guest could find the new section easier because they would just have to stay on International Street. And like they used to say" All roads lead to Rome" maybe it could be " All roads lead to the Effil Tower"......DON'T QUOTE ME ON THAT!!!! LOL.. anyway, just an idea, so what do you think?
  19. Is PKI normally crowded on Memorial Day? Or is it crowd-free? I'm pretty sure it is one of PKI's most active day, but whjo knows? Considering the th nation is all off of school and our of work, so I bet it is crowded, but if it's not, I'll be there so if anyone can anwser my question I would really like your help!
  20. I would have to say Face/Off , Drop Zone, or our newest Delirium! I really enjoy all three of those, but if it would be a roller coaster it would be Face/Off becuase I think it is fun watching other faces on that ride!!! Funny, It is was a thrill ride it would have to be Drop Zone, I love the height! If the ride had to be a Delrium, there is a cool rush when you are looking striaght down at the ground or looking up at the sky all on one ride!! Those are my choices , what are yours?
  21. Thanks for the heads up! I reall enjoy watching the Travel Channel because it is very reliable and entertaining. Anyways thanks for the notice! and hopefully we will see some of our rides on the special!!!
  22. T wouldn't mind having King Cobra back in PKI whether it was the original or a more advanced King Cobra, meaning like more comfortable stand up trains, more advanced inversions etc.... I really enjoyed the unique helix on the ride, it was really cool. What do you think?
  23. Sadly I haven't had the pleasure of being at PKIever sinc last season I reallllly want to ride Delirum and all of the other great rides at PKI. I was just curious question for all of you lucky people that have been to PKI anytime since the beginning of the 2003 season. How long has the wait been for you to ride Delirium?
