  1. One of the many reasons this site is so great. Other forums I've looked at recently (Babycenter, etc.) are an absolute TRAINWRECK. I love that we can all bond over a shared interest without getting mad at each other over politics. I can't wait to see how this story plays out. I hope they have to pay for the damages via garnished wages or something. In addition to jail time.
  2. I wonder why RMC has not yet dared to break the 200 foot barrier? Or if they ever will?
  3. I rode it at age 14 (with the loop), and I thought it was insanely rough. At 14, I didn't even notice things like that. But I did on Son of Beast. I don't mind that they removed it because there's no way I'd ever get on that thing as an adult. Still, I'm so thankful I got a chance to ride it when I was young. It really was an incredible ride and a crazy experience.
  4. I highly recommend Firefly Beach campground for those who have a tent or a camper, and need something WAY cheaper than the Point hotels. There is seriously nothing better than falling asleep to the sounds of the waves crashing on the beach. I think we paid 30 bucks a night during August. I really enjoy camping, I can't afford the CP hotels, and I'm cautious about any nearby hotels because of the possibility of bedbugs. This place was absolutely perfect for us. The restaurant has awesome Lake Erie perch, and the meal can easily feed two adults. We skipped dinner at CP and had that when we got back, saved a lot of money that way. The only downside is that in August it can get really spidery, especially if you camp under the big tree. I'm hoping to find out someday what it's like in May or June.
  5. Eh, I think changing the price of food items is a bit much. it could make visitors mad when they're used to a certain product being a certain price and suddenly it's changed on them. The park could lose those dollars to an outside restaurant. (Does reentry/parking again cost anything when you don't have a season pass?) Admission and Fast Lane changing prices is fine. Food MIGHT be taking it too far. I dunno. I guess most visitors won't notice the price changes but if someone gets the same thing every time and the price jumps around, they could get irritated.
  6. Yay for entertaining queue lines!
  7. Kings Island is a wonderful park but has SO much opportunity for improvement. I hope they'll take a break from Cedar Point and Carowinds additions for a while, or do small things, and focus more on KI. X Base, Oktoberfest, and Rivertown ALL need some love. I'm excited to see the future of Rivertown in particular. These recent new changes could signal good things to come, I think. All three areas have such good beginnings but really need a bit more to tie it all together and make it great. When I see them I always think "I miss the Paramount days." KI is already great but it just has an unbelievable amount of potential to be even more incredible.
  8. The Crypt at least had SOMETHING. I liked that animatronic winged demon thingy and the cave theme. And last time I rode it in 2011, I believe the goddess statue was even visible during the ride. Even that's enough for me. Just SOMETHING other than a screen makes me happy.
  9. Theming lasts forever if you maintain it. I agree. I'd take a well themed smaller ride over a giga any day.
  10. Anyone know offhand what flats KI is missing? (Besides a Screamin Swing, which I want for KI SO much.)
  11. I think over the next few years we will see a few new additions in that area. The current construction bodes well for Rivertown's future I think. I'd like to see a flat or two added to the area, and maybe another coaster. A wing coaster or a new RMC (no conversions!) would be really cool. Or maybe a launch coaster similar to Cheetah Hunt (but not an Intamin) that kind of goes with the terrain and flies among the trees, and some added scenery. Whatever it is, as long as Rivertown keeps most of its trees I'm happy!
  12. Wow... Why do they keep shooting themselves in the foot like this? Who on earth decided this was a good idea? I just hope Sea World doesn't drag Busch Gardens down with it. They'd be wise to rebrand all their parks as Busch Gardens and focus on rides more, and stop breeding animals. Video one last trick show in 3D and put it in a theater for future viewing and let the animals live the rest of their lives in peace.
  13. Was this just a standalone coaster or part of a park? Seems like wooden coasters don't do well in Florida.
  14. I know if I could visit any parks in that area this year, it'd be Sea World. Mako looks fantastic and it's something no other Florida park has. If they keep going after the thrill seeker market, and add some new flats for families, that'd be neat.
  15. I got The Great Pumpkin Coaster, which I've never been on. XD I wish there was a country or pop music option. But I loved the quiz!
  16. That is news to me! I can see why that would be a bad idea. I'm thinking these snakes will be behind glass, like at a zoo.
  17. http://www.tbo.com/events-tampa-bay/live-snake-exhibit-to-highlight-cobras-curse-at-busch-gardens-20160217/ An interesting update on Cobra's Curse: The queue line will feature a live snake exhibit! Such a cool idea, people will have something to look at while they wait in line. I'm very excited to ride this coaster someday!

As others have said before, line jumpers who want to move ahead to meet with their "group". They need to go to the back and wait the same amount of time everyone else has to, and/or make sure their group all enters the line together at the same time. Unsecured cell phones on rides. People arguing with ride ops. However, most of the time in parks I'm in kind of this "happy bubble" where I don't notice a LOT of the pet peeves I normally have (people walking slow, etc.). Normally toward the end of the day when I'm tired I notice it more.
  19. https://youtu.be/kTaCT8ZmdJA This Honda Ridgeline commercial. Has three of my favorite things: Border collie Sheep Good music Puppymonkeybaby was super weird but after the first couple times seeing it, it grew on me. I got to the point where I muted the game and only unmuted for the commercials because of those irritating people screaming WOOOOO into the audio feed.
  20. Aw, I'm sad now. I didn't ride it in 2013 because it was closed after the accident, and I didn't ride it in 2015 cause I was wearing tennis shoes. Always thought "It'll be there next time". It looked like a neat ride because they made some effort on theming & making it look pretty. Wonder what will replace it?

Coney Mall + Gemini Midway treatment= YES PLEASE! Along with bringing back the sign. Have they done that yet?
  22. I was always iffy about rides that go upside down when I was young. If I'd known what Tomb Raider was I may never have been brave enough to go in. But I did and I discovered Top Spins are one of my favorite rides. I so wish they'd put another Top Spin in there. Great article!
  23. I'd love to see it expanded. A restroom close to Flight of Fear, an S&S Screamin Swing, and another thrilling flat or two would be nice. Would also be a nice spot for a new coaster, perhaps. As long as they don't take out too many trees.
  24. Very good points.
  25. I do it because I'll take an hour wait over a 3 hour wait anytime. But I agree they do need to up the price. If I'm going to a park that I don't live near and get to experience all the time, I would gladly pay up to 200 bucks a person for Fast Lane Plus passes if it meant shorter lines. It's just worth it to me, because a park visit or two is typically the only vacation I get, and I want to enjoy every minute possible. So we save up and that's our big gift to ourselves for the year. A higher price point would really filter it down to the people who want it the most. I remember getting Quick Queue at Busch Gardens in Tampa back during spring break 2011. WOW. It was a very different experience, there was no waiting at all except on the rides that weren't eligible for Quick Queue. You just went in a different line and got on the ride. I also don't remember it being incredibly expensive. I just looked up the price and it's 20.99 throughout most of Feb/March per Quick Queue pass. How are they doing this so much better than Cedar Fair at SUCH a low price point? (Note: I haven't been to BGT since 2011 so this system could have turned into a complete disaster these days and I wouldn't know.)
