Did anyone here go last Saturday and notice whether the Saturday haunt lines were typical for past years or much shorter?

Haunt at KI is PACKED. Any idea the size of the pass-holder crowd vs the one-day ticket crowd?

There doesn’t appear to be enough of a price difference between the express pass price and the regular maze price given that the express also includes the Conjuring experience. The express price is very close to the base maze ticket + base conjuring ticket.

What is the size of the Boo Blasters building compared to the Battle of Metroplis ride buildings at various legacy Six Flags parks?

I did KI Haunt in 2023 and Six Flags Great America (Illinois) FrightFest in 2024. KI, as you know, has had the mazes included with admission. There’s an upcharge for FrightLane which allows you to join the shorter line once per maze. My experience in the houses especially were a little lackluster, as folks here have shared regarding theirs. The FrightFest event you could be in the park on a regular ticket or pass. This included active and fully staffed scare zones. The mazes were $40 for a night and $80 if you wanted an express line. Both maze passes were unlimited. We did Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3 times. Three of the five houses were popular IP, like Texas Chainsaw, Stranger Things, and Saw. In addition to the upcharge for houses, during the day they had Octoberfest area setup with punchcards for food and specialty drinks. The FrightFest mazes and scare zones were done much better. I’d compare it to WinterFest at KI where your pass can get you into the park, but they also have a lot of upcharge items (ice skating, cookies, specialty food, etc.) which allows them to do the event.

There’s a post on Reddit from someone who said that they were on the Banshee and saw a body lying in the ground in the restricted area at the conclusion of their ride. And then paramedics on the scene.

I agree, Disco2000. We had gold this year but are planning to visit other Cedar Fair parks (CP, KD and Carowinds) for the first time next year. Def switching to Platinum, but this Premier+ is an intriguing option. Worth it if it applies to all parks, but not worth it for us if it only applies to KI because we won't get as many visits to KI this year. Has anyone renewed these without having received the e-mail (by following the direct link)? I didn't receive an e-mail, and didn't know if I'd even be able to renew my 2022 gold pass to the prestige upgrade without the invite.

Does the parking lot open 60 minutes before the scheduled open time? And do they still open the gates 30 minutes before opening rides, attractions, and skating, etc.? TIA!

The official KI app now says The Beast is “down”.

Has the app said “closed” on previous days? It is showing as “open” with 0 minute wait. Flying over via Diamondback this morning, they have it roped off with an employee standing there turning people away. Have they had an employee there every day that the ride has been closed?

I rode on Wednesday, July 28. I thought the first ride was rough in row 5 but the 2nd ride was relatively non-rough later in the afternoon. 2nd ride was in the 2nd to last row. During the first ride at around noon, there were a lot of official KI workers and their vehicles on the roads by the track … noticed them mostly around the 2nd lift hill. Sounds like it won’t be open tomorrow. :-(

I was there Wednesday and did not experience this.

What have the Tuesday and/or Wednesday lines been like this month on a good weather day? Does Orion pretty much fill up early and stay long all day?

Are they doing early ride times for passholders? I see the park official opening time is 11am and when we went earlier this year, they didn’t have 10:30am rides. I see it’s advertised on their website, but wondering what the actual experience is.

Is it even raining there today? When I saw the announcement, the forecast was “100%” chance of rain. By noon, the chances were 60%.

Can someone summarize the KK chaperone policy, or what you think it should be at KI (if you think KI should have one)? I’m seeing some comments here “under 21”. The article I read re: KK was that under 16 had to enter the park with someone 21+.

We only waited 25 minutes at Banshee. (In line at 2:15 and off ride at 2:40.) in my experience today, actual wait times have been shorter than quoted in the KI app.

That’s my prediction, as well. I think state park crowds last year are indicative of what KI will be like this year. Folks are ready to get out, and KI being a mostly outdoor venue will attract folks looking to go back to public spaces but aren’t quite ready for indoor entertainment (movies, etc.)

Do they have ERT (10:30)starting this weekend?

Not sure if this will continue to be the case, but here is adding Sunday's info: Friday opened main gates 30 minutes early. (5pm posted time) Saturday they didn't open gates earlier than the 4pm posted time. Sunday opened main gates 30 minutes early (4:30pm instead of 5pm). (However, couldn't get to rides until 5pm.) My guess is that this has to do with ice skating, which has the first session starting at 5pm. It lets folks get started with the reservations so they can be on the ice at 5pm.

I know they don't have ERT for Winterfest, but do they open the gates earlier than the posted opening time? I don't remember if it was last year or two years ago, they started scanning tickets at 430 (for a 5pm opening), and let people onto International Street. Then folks for Mystic Timbers were stopped at the end of IS and allowed back to MT at 5pm. Any experience with this this weekend?

LOCKER: Rode Banshee in late July and noticed a ton of bags laying on the ground just outside the Banshee entrance. Has this become common this season or was this an atypical day? ORION RIDE CAPACITY: the stated ride capacity is 1650 riders/hour, which is identical to Banshee and slightly more than Diamondback (1620 r/h). This is comparison of stated/expected rider capacity at the time each was built. I cannot find updated actual stats on Diamondback. I find that Diamondback lines are "always" a longer wait the Banshee, and Banshee line seems to move faster and be a better people eater. Surely 30 r/h difference doesn't make that big of a difference? Is it mostly the bins or is there another reason that the Diamondback doesn't (seemingly) chew through lines as fast as the Banshee? I wondered if maybe more of the GP is willing to ride Diamondback than Banshee (maybe because its inverted or because it has inversions?). I'm hopeful that the rider capacity / line movement is more like Banshee. :-)

I wonder how often someone comes back to the Banshee station to find their flip flops have been puked on?
