  1. Was just glancing at some Coasterstock coverage on this area...With the repeat live show of the Phantom Theatre in the American Heritage Music Hall...where is the puppet tree house acknowledged much less what actually occupied that footprint prior....just throwing this topic out there.
  2. The float they have is the concession and parking business on their other interest on Kellogg Avenue....
  3. So, if they pave the parking lot next season...would that be considered an additional attraction to release to the press......LMAO.
  4. I was fortunate enough to be have been part of the second life of coney, was working with the concession group and met a number of great people there on Kellog.
  5. I imagine the private walk event yesterday be largest crowd of the year...lol
  6. Noticed Kings Island opened today, is Coney Island still open?
  7. Just sell the park to Gene Staples. Does that Mike Smith still have his hand in that Riverbend stuff.....follow the money trail...lmao
  8. Interesting idea I think as well, but I doubt many people will come without the rides open daytime hours.
  9. On a side note...I assumed Taft moved the old coaster sign to Kings Island...at least the shooting star. If you look at the pictures and remember the coney island mall at KI...it dead ended into the flat ride Haleys Comet....
  10. Still standing? Psh......hot mess bud.
  11. Wasn't the focus the water park? "Psh"......to quote Ed Bassmaster.
  12. I was wanting to respond to KIC Star member direct on his appreciation of that mess...call Vic Nolting...anyone. I was fortunate enough to have worked for a vendor that helped the park with pizza there and KI. If the Taft sale to Mr. Lidner had not occured...none of this would be...Riverbend.....the arts contribution...corbett contribution..yada.
  13. Wow.....hope Mrs. Walker entertains an offer from Gene Staples....that a hot mess there.
  14. The public much more interested in the rides and history of the park, shame management killed it.
  15. Wow......amazing. Was the theater scene the peppers ghost effect? Really interested in that aspect of the rides special effect.....any pictures or video of it?
  16. I recently inquired about the beer stein in International Street and was educated a bit. Is there record of what was created for Kings Island by him or other parks, venues which large scale would have been produced? Just throwing this out there....the puppet tree was probably years after and shipped in.
  17. I was looking at some 1972 footage of International Street and didnt notice it in place at that time. Does anyone know the origin of the stein and when installed?
  18. I am assuming the stein was produced to promote the beer sales and pretzels on the corner from what I recall working there, not for the park, but the vendor Mr. Pancero.
  19. I have not been this year, but their website still shows the attraction.
  20. I just now saw the response...thank you! Great pictures and info...
  21. Hope they find and install a flume ride!
  22. How did the relationship with Coney and the Krofft Brothers develop? I remember the old puppet theater at Coney and understand there still is a theater and puppet show at Six Flags in Georgia. Also, was the puppet show relocated to KI and performed in that Firestone inflatable structure?
  23. Worked at KI '79 through 2007 and remember there was a plaque out front of the showplace in the lawn reflecting the date and that Dick Van Dyke was present....wonder where it went?
