  1. But for one-time visitors, they no no difference between what is played every day or not.
  2. Is the current pre-ride video (non-Outer Limits) on da YouTube? I don't think I've found the correct one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. If most of us here had the opportunity to talk to Mr. Stengal, few would turn down that offer.
  4. One of the saddest parts about the ride is that way to often I hear people talking outside of the ride, passing by the ride, and stating "it's for kids". No. It's an interactive dark ride developed from Sally's "Ghost Blasters 2" model, and it's fun for everyone. No, it's not a walk through haunted house, either.
  5. I love that part of the UFO. It always felt comparable to the final "anti-chamber" of Tomb Raider: The Ride before you boarded the ride. I believe it was turned off sometime in the middle of the 2013 season.
  6. Complete with the old Cedar Fair logo. Italian Job, who still wants to know whether or not that new logo is going to be implemented anywhere else besides the Cedar Fair website.
  7. Do you work in those safari vests that they used to give to employees in Dinosaurs Alive!? EDIT: as seen in this picture: http://bloximages.newyork1.vip.townnews.com/richmond.com/content/tncms/assets/v3/editorial/a/dd/adde439e-1de7-5a77-844f-aaffc9d02e83/516cb0b402505.image.jpg
  8. I am also prone to motion sickness, as I can rarely do Zephyr anymore. But like Magenta Lizard stated, the larger radius on WindSeeker helps a ton and I don't get sick or dizzy at all on WindSeeker.
  9. The 80's shop is one of the stores that still sells those mugs that are black with neon names of a lot of rides that aren't at Kings Island anymore. Most notably The Crypt. EDIT: This one: http://www.kimarketplace.com/Kings-Island-Neon-Ride-Names-Mug-P390.aspx
  10. I suppose that's just one of the sacrifices we have to make at Kings Island for having the best kids area in the world 14 years in a row... Had the park not had that reputation, I'd be willing to bet some of the "family" rides would've been put elsewhere in the park (Race For Your Life, Flying Ace, Surf Dog, Woodstock Gliders to name a few).
  11. I know someone who lives in central Kentucky and makes an approximately 1 hr and 45 min drive every day to get to Kings Island for work. It just boggles my mind a bit to think there are no other seasonal or part time jobs near them that would make more sense than Kings Island.
  12. https://twitter.com/KingsIslandPR/status/603058385060286465 It will be "back in action". This summer. Not next season.
  13. Do they not have two casts? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. The trick to saving incandescent light bulbs from burning out is investing in LUTRON Maestro Dimmers. Since burnt out light bulbs are generally caused by the filament expanding or contracting too fast when switching the light on or off, these dimmers slowly dim on and slowly dim off your lights. For reference, I installed two of these dimmers into my family room of 14 recessed cans (all incandescent, 65 watt), and I've only had to change 2 bulbs in the 5 years they've been installed. LED's also, in my experience, dim over time. Since it's slow, it goes unnoticed; unless you compare it right next to a brand new LED. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. People like Coke because they see it more and want to fit in with the status quo and not be different from anyone else, regardless of whether they know they prefer the taste of one over the other. Taste testing could allow some people to realize what they like more....and possibly influence large companies (like Cedar Fair, perhaps) to switch to the premium cola. And it's superior counterparts (namely Mountain Dew and Mug). It is beginning to sadden me that one cannot talk about Frisch's and its struggling state without at least mentioning its Coke-to-Pepsi switch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I've been at the park all but two hours and I've now overheard three conversations about the all-season dining plan. People have been talking. Last year, it was a $72 secret for us frequent park goers. This year, a lot more people know about it, and food lines seem to be longer at abnormal dining times. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. It really just sticks out in Planet Snoopy, and not in a good way. Officially, Boo Blasters is NOT part of Planet Snoopy, and is not listed as such in the "Rider Height Guide" column on the back of the park map. It is officially located on International Street, despite the fact that its entrance is physically in Planet Snoopy and its operators wear Planet Snoopy uniforms. That's really...awkward. *sigh* Hopefully within a few years, they'll improve this ride. You know, I'm not crazy about what's actually in the ride, but even if they just fixed the shooting system...I'd be okay. It's nice and air conditioned so I appreciate that much. Although if you pay extra close attention, you will notice that the trash cans inside the Boo Blasters queue are regular Kings Island trashcans, as opposed to the Planet Snoopy-labeled trashcans that are everywhere else in Planet Snoopy. Maybe Cedar Fair was wrong not to theme it immediately to something Snoopy related when Planet Snoopy took over in 2010. I just don't like the inconstancy. I'm very OCD that way.
  18. I feel like they should never have taken BLSC's on-ride photos out, simply because maybe after waiting so long for such a low copacity yet themed ride, one would want to go buy an on-ride photo. Idk, it just seems to me that BLSC could do plenty of sales had it kept its photo booth. Italian Job, defending his user name.
  19. Surely, this is one of the leading indicators that SEAS is looking to other park operators to see how they're doing their business, and seeing how they can increase their attendance. Granted, Busch as a brand is in a much better place than SeaWorld, so maybe they're trying to make up for the losses at SeaWorld at Busch Gardens.
  20. I could not have picked a better day than yesterday (Wednesday the 20th) to go to the park. Personally, I loved the high 50s low 60s temperatures. Perfect for me to just wear one jacket and not have to think about becoming too hot. The gloomy skies kept crowds away. I will be going a lot more next week and I hope the crowds are similar.
  21. Unless you hoarded light bulbs before they were phased out, just like I may have done...
  22. Boo Blasters: "This is a ride?! I thought this was just a haunted maze!" Halloween Haunt prematurely, eh?
  23. Flight of Fear's and Boo Blaster's photo booths were removed before the 2014 season began. I believe Backlot Stunt Coaster hasn't had on-ride cameras since its days as Italian Job: Stunt Track. The only rides with on-ride cameras left are: Firehawk Diamondback Banshee Vortex The Beast Woodstock Express The Great Pumpkin Coaster Race For Your Life Charlie Brown
  24. They were once used. And with reason. Personally, I think it makes a guest more excited about their entry into the park. Similar to Magic Kingdom's parking situation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. How was it during Coasterstock? I heard it was down a couple times over the weekend.
